Hollywood megastar looks different in resurfaced photo

An Aussie star who has been catapulted to Hollywood mega-stardom has been spotted in a resurfaced school photograph.

Jacob Elordi’s former school in Brisbane paid tribute to the Saltburn actor, sharing a heart-warming message honouring his success on the screen.

The St Joseph’s Nudgee College Old Boys’ Association posted a picture showing the former pupil looking very different in his final year of school in 2015.

The much-younger Jacob posed for the picture with his hands in his pockets, looking slightly awkward while wearing a striped blue and white blazer and a giant smile on his face.

Jacob’s alma mater gushed about how ‘proud’ they were of everything the 28-year-old had achieved amid the glowing reviews of his performance in Guillermo del Toro’s new Frankenstein film.

‘Jacob Elordi’s (NCOB 2015) transformation for the role of Frankenstein is being hailed as one of the most striking reinventions of the character in years,’ the caption began.

‘The Nudgee Old Boy and wider St Joseph’s Nudgee College community are proud of all he has achieved and how he has stepped so convincingly into a role of this scale and cultural weight,’ they shared.

St Joseph’s Nudgee College is a Catholic boarding school for boys, located in Boondall, Brisbane.

After growing up a theatre kid, the Australian star moved to Hollywood when he was just a teenager to pursue his acting career.

Born in 1997 in Brisbane, Jacob comes from a close-knit family as the youngest of four children with three elder sisters.

Jacob caught the acting bug early, and by 2017, not yet 20, he garnered his first taste of the spotlight when he played an extra in Pirates Of The Caribbean: Dead Men Tell No Tales, taking the uncredited role of a Saint Martin’s Marine.

His breakthrough role came when he starred as teen heartthrob in the 2018 franchise The Kissing Booth, yet Jacob has gone on to challenge himself in a range of contrasting roles.

From the high school toxic love interest in HBO’s Euphoria, to stepping into the shoes of the legendary musician Elvis Presley in Sofia Coppola’s biographical drama Priscilla.

Meanwhile, his role as posh English student Felix Catton in Emerald Fennell’s Saltburn earned him a BAFTA nomination and propelled him into a whole new audience.

Jacob has previously spoken on his role in the adaptation of Mary Shelley's Frankenstein (pictured), revealing that the creature is 'the purest form of myself'

Most recently he has taken on the role of the Creature in Guillermo del Toro’s adaptation of Mary Shelley’s 1818 gothic novel.

Jacob has previously spoken on his role in the adaptation of Mary Shelley’s Frankenstein, revealing that the creature is ‘the purest form of myself’.

‘I was drawn to this role because it’s a vessel that I could put every part of myself into. Everything from the moment I was born to being with you here today, that’s all in it in many ways.

‘The creature on screen is the purest form of myself. He is more me than I am as a performer. If you can find yourself in a character that’s a really beautiful thing that can happen. And I am only realising it now in hindsight.’

Jacob is also set to star alongside fellow Aussie Margot Robbie in the Emerald Fennell adaptation of Wuthering Heights.

The film, which is scheduled for release on Valentine’s Day next year, follows the love story as it moves from romance to intoxication, love and madness.
