What you should actually buy from Space NK

Daily Mail journalists select and curate the products that feature on our site. If you make a purchase via links on this page we will earn commission – learn more

This weekend, more than 12,000 beauty enthusiasts descended on Space NK’s striking new flagship store at 214 Oxford Street – formerly part of the iconic old Topshop before its closure in 2021. Spanning an impressive 4,600 square feet, this is the brand’s boldest retail move yet, promising an immersive beauty experience that goes far beyond your average trip to Boots.

So, what’s waiting inside?

I was given an exclusive preview of what’s in store for shoppers ahead of its grand opening on Friday.

Upon entering, you’re welcomed into an interactive ‘play area’ designed for beauty discovery. Suspended from the ceiling are eight oversized tubes called ‘viral drops installations’, each filled with TikTok trending products from cult brands like Rare Beauty, Vieve and Byoma. A rainbow arch of Space NK’s travel wash kits (£16) invites you to fill your chosen bag with these mini must-haves – essentially the ultimate beauty pick ‘n’ mix.

Tapping into the Noughties body spray revival, the ‘scent station’ invites customers to take a four-question quiz to discover their perfect spritz, while a conveyor belt displays testers from the likes of Phlur, Sol de Janeiro and Kopari – ideal for sampling before committing.

Those after a more refined fragrance experience can head to the dedicated ‘discovery counter’. Here you’ll find high-end scents from Diptyque, Byredo and Tom Ford. There’s an exclusive engraving station nearby for personalising your perfume bottle – free if you spend over £65.

Fans of bag charms will adore the Jellycat x Space NK collaboration: a plush, smiley-faced pendant modelled on the brand’s iconic carrier. Unsurprisingly, it sold out halfway through opening day but expect a restock later this year.

Here are my top ten beauty buys from the new store that are worthy of your basket…

1) DEDCOOL IN TAUNT

If you’ve been anywhere near #PerfumeTok (which has garnered more than 2.3 billion views) you’ll know DedCool – the cult LA fragrance brand that’s rewriting the rules with genderless scents and minimalist packaging. While its Milk skin scent that smells different on each wearer has gone viral, Taunt is a standout for lovers of vanilla. It’s sweet without being gourmand and subtle enough to be office appropriate.

2) VICTORIA BECKHAM LIP TINT

Another new arrival at Space NK, Victoria Beckham Beauty has quickly become a beauty editor’s favourite, thanks to its elevated packaging and winning formulas. While its eyeliners are the hero product, the Bitten Lip Tint deserves attention too. This stain delivers lip colour with staying power, the gel- like formula absorbs immediately and isn’t drying. Finish with a clear lip balm.

3) MEDIK8 CRYSTAL RETINAL

For those looking to start incorporating Vitamin A into their skincare routine, look no further than Medik8’s Crystal Retinal. With strengths ranging from 0.01% to 0.24%, it’s suitable for everyone from cautious beginners to aficionados. Powered by retinaldehyde that’s proven to work faster than traditional retinol, this serum is your shortcut to visibly smoother, firmer skin.

4) BY TERRY SERUM CONCEALER

By Terry is the epitome of chic French skincare-meets-make-up. Founded by Terry de Gunzberg – the woman behind YSL’s iconic Touche Éclat – the Hyaluronic Serum Concealer is the ultimate multi-tasker. Lightweight and creamy, it hydrates the under-eye, smooths fine lines, and delivers a radiant, rested finish.

5) VIEVE SKIN NOVA PRIMER

For make-up minimalists or those who would like to dial down their coverage, Vieve’s award-winning Skin Nova Primer is the product to know. Enriched with niacinamide and light-reflecting pigments, it brightens dull skin, refines pores, and gives every complexion a dewy boost — no foundation necessary.

6) FRESH LOTUS YOUTH PRESERVE NIGHT CREAM

Fresh blends botanical ingredients with science-backed efficacy, and the Lotus Youth Preserve Night Cream is its hero hydrator. Designed to revive tired skin, the formula features a whole lotus plant extract – hand-picked, pressed and juiced – to boost radiance and reduce signs of fatigue overnight.

7) SPACE NK TUSCAN VINES CANDLE

Looking for a new signature home scent? Space NK’s own-brand Tuscan Vines candle will transport you to the Italian countryside. With fresh green tomato leaf, fig, cedarwood, and pine needle, it will brighten your kitchen.

8) RARE BEAUTY LIQUID BLUSH

TikTok favourite Rare Beauty’s Soft Pinch Liquid Blush lives up to the hype. Available in 14 radiant and matte shades, it delivers a natural flush with a single dot. The feather-weight texture blends like a dream and layers seamlessly over foundation or bare skin.

9) ULTRA VIOLETTE LIP BALM

From the Australian SPF experts at Ultra Violette, Sheen Screen Lip Balm is your ultimate sun-smart lip product. It’s rich in shea and cacao seed butter, offers UVA protection and comes in six flattering tints. Try Bejewelled, a luminous pink with gold shimmer, for a subtle statement.

10) PAULA’S CHOICE PRO-COLLAGEN MOISTURISER

Finally, for smooth, firm, makeup-ready skin, look no further than Paula’s Choice peptide-powered moisturiser. With three pro-collagen peptides and a lightweight gel texture, it hydrates without pilling — the perfect prep step for your base.
