Hunt for Rolex rippers who targeted man at knifepoint

A manhunt is underway for two robbers who snatched a man’s Rolex at knifepoint from King Charles’ model community.  

The victim, a man aged in his 30s, was walking in Poundbury’s Great Field at around 4.45pm on April 2, when two men approached him and stole his Rolex GMT.

The suspects are described as white and aged in their early 20s. One was about 5ft 10in tall and slim build, wearing a black hooded jumper, tracksuit bottoms and black trainers.

The other was about 5ft 5in tall, slim build, also wearing a black hooded jumper, tracksuit bottoms and trainers.

Detectives are appealing for anyone with doorbell camera, CCTV or car dashcam footage of the incident to come forward. 

Detective Constable Scarlett Thornton, of Dorset County CID, said: ‘We are continuing to investigate this robbery and I am appealing for any witnesses or anyone with information regarding those involved to please come forward.

‘I would also urge any residents in the vicinity with home CCTV or doorbell cameras, as well as motorists who were in the area around the relevant time with dashcam, to please review their footage for anything that might assist our enquiries.’

Poundbury was built on Duchy of Cornwall land outside Dorchester in Dorset and was the then Prince Charles’ vision for a utopian community where private and affordable housing mix with boutique shops, places of work and services like the local school and medical centre within walking distance.

Building work began in 1993 and it is due for completion in 2028.
