Hollyoaks couple Niamh Blackshaw and Angus Castle-Doughty are engaged

Hollyoaks couple Niamh Blackshaw and Angus Castle-Doughty have revealed that they are engaged four years after meeting on the show.

The pair fell for one another after Angus, 31, joined the Channel 4 soap as Eric Foster back in 2022. 

And at the beginning of 2023, Niamh – best known for playing Juliet Nightingale on the show – confirmed that they were dating. 

On Wednesday night, the couple confirmed that they have taken their relationship to the next step and shared their exciting announcement on Instagram with a loved-up photobooth snap.   

They simply captioned the post with an engagement ring emoji. 

Many rushed to the comments section to congratulate them with their news, including their former Hollyoaks co-stars and others in the industry.

Rayne Royce star Jemma Donovan wrote: ‘!!!’ with a heart emoji.  

Hollie-Jay Bowes, who played Michaela McQueen on/off from 2006 to 2012, added four heart emojis.  

Nikki Sanderson, who played Maxine Minniver between 2005 and 2025, wrote: ‘Congratulations.’

Coronation Street’s Liam Scholes added: ‘Oh my daysssss you heroes xx.’ 

Waterloo Road’s Tillie Amartey said: ‘Wifey era congrats both.’

The loved-up couple went official with their relationship in January 2023.

Niamh shared with fans: ‘A year of growth, learning, kindness, loneliness, boundaries and acceptance.

‘Ending in a better space than it began.’

Meanwhile Angus said: ‘2022 saw me move to the other side of the country, take the biggest step in my career, a relationship end and a relationship start.’

Angus appeared on Hollyoaks between 2022 and 2023. He has since appeared on A Thousand Blows and Robin Hood.

Prior to his role in Hollyoaks, he starred in The King’s Man, Showtrial, Shadow and Bone, Agatha Raisin, Forgive Me and The First Great Escape.  

Niamh, who now stars as Agnes Eccleston in Waterloo Road, starred on the show as a regular from 2018 to 2023. 

Before Hollyoaks she landed roles in Landline and Coronation Street. She’s also taken on the role of Jade Bell in Ellis this year.
