Hair-pulling brawl involving men AND women erupts at Miami Airport

A nasty fight erupted outside of Miami International Airport on Monday as travelers were seen pulling each other’s hair and dragging one another to the ground.

The fight began just after 9 pm EST near the airport’s lower-level doors 16 and 17, according to the Miami-Dade Sheriff’s Office.

A video of the altercation went viral on social media, depicting the terrifying moments when two individuals began beating each other.

As fists flew, others ran to join the fight. The brawl involved both men and women, as some attempted to de-escalate the violence.

At one point, an individual was pulled by their hair and thrown to the sidewalk while a man appeared to kick them.

Deputies responded to the fight, and one adult male victim reported the physical altercation.

The victim said he didn’t know the second person involved in the fight, and they fled the scene before authorities arrived.

Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded to assist the victim, but he refused treatment. Authorities didn’t release the victim’s name.

The sheriff’s office said they are still investigating the brawl. It’s unclear what led to the altercation.

One lane of the lower drive was temporarily closed as authorities responded to the brawl.

The viral video was shared on the citizen-journalism page, Only in Dade, and generated over 8,000 likes in 14 hours.

‘Traveling brings out the best in everybody this time of year,’ the caption sarcastically read.

The poster also added the hit Christmas tune, It’s the Most Wonderful Time of the Year, as the video’s audio.

Many rushed to the comment section to express their shock at the viral airport violence.

‘Nothing says ‘holiday travel’ like a pre-flight boxing match,’ one comment read.

‘I love staying home .. avoiding this bs,’ another added.

‘That madness at the airport needs to stop. I don’t feel safe to travel on a plane neither,’ a third wrote.

The airport has seen violent episodes in the past, including one in August and a seven-person brawl in 2021

Some eagle-eyed users said they saw a security vehicle in the corner of the video, with one writing: ‘Cops are quick to tell you to move your car if you’re parked for 5 seconds dropping someone off at MIA but are NO WHERE to be found in this situation.

‘Cop car literally posted up 20 ft away LOL.’

‘If im parked there 2 seconds cops telling us to move. This happens and cop right there does nothing,’ another added.

The Daily Mail has reached out to Miami International Airport for comment.

This isn’t the first time violence has broken out at the airport. In 2021, a massive brawl erupted in the American Airlines terminal.

The nasty fight included seven individuals who were seen beating one another while travelers looked on in horror.

Then again, in August, two passengers got into a heated altercation on an American Airlines flight that landed in Miami.

The sheriff’s office later released a statement that deputies responded to reports of a battery after the plane had landed.
