Gino D’Acampo puts his £4.2million mansion up for sale

Gino D’Acampo has put his £4.2million Hertfordshire mansion up for sale, months after his TV career imploded amid allegations of lewd and inappropriate behaviour.

MailOnline can reveal the Italian chef, 48, listed the Grade II listed seven-bedroom Georgian property on Friday, having overseen a huge restoration project with wife Jessica.

The couple, who share three children Luciano, 23, Rocco, 20, and Mia, 13, also have a property in Sardinia, where Jessica recently hosted a get-together among her female pals.

The decision to put their family home on the market also comes after Gino’s restaurant empire racked up debts of £7.3million before going into administration.

A source told MailOnline: ‘Gino’s had a tough time lately so selling the family home will also add to the sadness.

‘Himself and Jessica put so much work into turning the property into their dream home.’

Home is where the heart is: After making the shock decision to quit his ITV travel show, Gino D'Acampo will have plenty more time to stay at home

The end of terrace property has six bathrooms, a giant kitchen/breakfast room and a living area featuring a grand piano next to a spectator Georgian fireplace.

Gino has previously pictured himself playing guitar in the room in front of the roaring fire.

The 4,720 sq ft property also includes period features typical of houses of its era including fireplaces in eight of the rooms, tall ceilings with roses, original ornate cornices and large shuttered windows which flood the rooms with natural light.

The garden is also perfect for entertaining, featuring an outdoor kitchen, mains gas bbq, heated gazebo and a Jacuzzi with led lighting system and sound connection.

There is also a garden studio currently used as a cinema room and a gym.

Earlier this year, an ITV investigation found there were multiple claims of ‘unacceptable,’ ‘distressing’ and ‘horrendous’ treatment while working with Gino over more than 12 years.

It was also claimed ITV ignored complaints over the star’s ‘inappropriate’ towards his colleagues, which included ‘vile’ and ‘sexist’ comments made towards Holly Willoughby in 2018.

He told ITV News he ‘firmly denied’ all the allegations, which he called ‘deeply upsetting.

Gino admitted he and wife Jessica have their own lives and often spend prolonged periods of time apart during their free time.

Jessica has yet to comment on Gino’s sex scandal, but he’s still included in the bio on her Isnatheam account, in which she describes herself as ‘the wife of a funny little Italian, mother to the greatest kids on the planet, friends with so many people, so I’m a pretty lucky lady.’

Gino said his time away from work is carefully balanced so he can be alone – something he claims helps strengthen his marriage.

He told heat: ‘I think it’s not only important to spend quality time with my family, but I also strongly believe in spending time alone. You discover new things about yourself and you have time to think, which is something that people don’t do often enough.

‘Everybody’s always so busy and alone time is super-important for my marriage.’

He added: ‘Jessica and I have been together for 31 years, we have three children, and we never have problems, because we have our own lives away from one another.’

Gino met his wife as a teenager, while working at Sylvester Stallone’s Mambo King restaurant in Marbella – where he served as Head Chef.

They married in 2002 and renewed their vows in 2021, but the Italian star refutes the idea that time spent apart could lead to affairs.

Speaking to OK! Magazine, he explained: ‘You need to balance your married life with your ‘single life”.

‘I can be away for a month and I will talk to my wife once a week for about 20 minutes. Then, when I come back, we can talk about it all.’

MailOnline has approached Gino’s reps for comment.
