Last month, an ill-advised kiss at a Coldplay concert caused a viral outbreak and the apparent demise of the perpetrators’ relationships.
The now infamous kiss between Astronomer employees Andy Byron and Kristin Cabot’s kiss is not the first time loose lips have been caught on camera however, as a host of stars have left their partners in turmoil when they were caught kissing.
A prolific moment came in the form of fuunyman Seann Walsh’s kiss with his Strictly Come Dancing co-star Katya Jones in 2018 – despite both being in relationships.
While Seann’s girlfriend Rebecca Humphries used the kiss as a launchpad for their split amid accusations of gaslighting in their relationship, other stars have managed to salvage their romances thanks to forgiving partners.
Another star to cause ructions was Kristen Stewart, who betrayed her then-boyfriend Robert Pattinson by locking lips with director Rupert Sanders.
Yet more candid camera moments came from the likes of married Danny Jones and his I’m A Celebrity co-star Maura Higgins and Khloe Kardashian’s love rat ex Tristan Thompson, who was caught in a clinch while the star was pregnant.
So whose camera kisses have caused stirs in the showbiz world?
SEANN WALSH AND KATYA JONES
While he was taking part on the 2018 series of Strictly Come Dancing, Seann kissed his professional dance partner Katya Jones outside a pub.
A photo of the pair kissing caused a media firestorm as the infamous Strictly curse reared it’s ugly head once more.
Seann was in a relationship with then girlfriend Rebecca Humphries at the time, while Katya was married to fellow Strictly professional Neil Jones.
Despite the controversy, Seann and Katya carried on with the show and were ultimately eliminated in the fifth week.
Following the incident, Seann’s actress girlfriend Rebecca released an impassioned statement in which she revealed he called her ‘psycho’ and ‘nuts’ for questioning his friendship with Katya, who he kissed on Rebecca’s birthday. They soon broke up.
While Katya was supported by her husband Neil after the ‘drunken mistake’, their marriage did not last as they announced their split in August 2019.
The dancers confirmed they were splitting in joint Instagram statements, but despite writing they had mutual ‘respect’ and ‘love’, a source claimed Katya’s infidelity was something her husband couldn’t get over.
The pair have remained friends since the split and continue to be professional dancers together on Strictly.
KRISTEN STEWART
In 2012, Kristen shocked the world when pictures emerged of her kissing married director Rupert Sanders while dating Hollywood hunk Robert Pattinson.
Rupert was married at the time to model-actress Liberty Ross, with the couple divorcing in 2014.
During an interview with Howard Stern in 2019, Kristen shared: ‘I did not f**k [Rupert]. This is the most candid interview’.
Kristen added that it was assumed that she did sleep with the father-of-two, admitting that when ‘you make out with a dude in public, it definitely looks like you did [have sex].’
Kristen told Stern that, ‘I wouldn’t say that I fell in love with the director,’ later admitting she ‘wanted to’ marry her Twilight co-star Robert.
DANNY JONES
Danny Jones was filmed sharing a kiss with Love Island star Maura Higgins, 34, at a BRIT Awards afterparty earlier this year. Weeks later, he released a statement apologising to his wife Georgia for ‘putting her in the situation’.
He wrote: ‘Hello everyone. Sorry its taken me a while to post this but I’ve taken some time out to be with those closest to me.
‘I want to deeply apologise to my wife and family for putting them in this situation. I love then so much and we’ll continue to deal with this privately.
‘I love you guys, thank you for you patience, understanding, and support. See you all soon, Danny.’
Despite his grovelling apology, a source told MailOnline that Georgia took some time away from her husband as she stayed over at her and Danny’s best friends’ house.
Georgia is said to have stayed with her friend for some ‘girly time’ to distract herself from everything that has been going on.
However the source insisted Georgia only left the family home temporarily and the couple are ‘working on things behind closed doors’.
MATT HANCOCK
Politician and reality star Matt Hancock left the UK in shock after CCTV exposed him kissing an aide amid the coronavirus pandemic – breaking his own rules while telling the UK to stick to social distancing measures during his stint as Health Secretary.
Matt, who appeared on I’m A Celebrity in 2022, was caught on camera in a passionate clinch with his hand rubbing the back and bottom of millionaire lobbyist Gina Coladangelo who was brought in as a taxpayer-funded advisor in March 2020.
The incident is alleged to have taken place in the corridor outside his office at the Department for Health’s headquarters in London at around 3pm on May 6 this year – the day of the UK local elections and a week after his first coronavirus jab.
The kiss was also 13 days before the Government relaxed safety regulations including giving permission to hug.
Following the exposure of the kiss in 2022, Matt was forced to resign while he also ended his 15-year marriage to Martha Hoyer Millar.
He pursued his relationship with Gina and they now live together in London.
TRISTAN THOMPSON
Notorious love rat Tristan Thompson once again devastated Khloe Kardashian when he was snapped smooching back in 2018.
Khloe’s baby daddy was filmed getting up close and personal with a mystery brunette on a night out in New York seven years ago – despite his then-pregnant girlfriend being just days away from giving birth in Cleveland, Ohio.
The NBA player was spotted getting cozy with the unidentified woman at PH-D Lounge, a rooftop bar in Manhattan.
Videos filmed by other club goers, showed Tristan leaning in for a kiss.
Khloe and Tristan had been dating since September 2016 and in December 2017 she announced her pregnancy by sharing a snap of her bare baby bump. She welcomed their daughter True in April 2018.
In February the following year, the couple split after it was revealed he cheated on Khloe with her younger half-sister Kylie Jenner’s then-best friend Jordyn Woods.
In August 2020, they resumed their relationship after quarantining together during the coronavirus pandemic, yet in June 2021, they announced that they had split again.
They got back together in October 2021, and split once more in December 2021. In July 2022, it was announced that Kardashian and Thompson were expecting a baby boy via surrogacy. Their son, Tatum, was born on July 28 2022.
