Freddie Flintoff swerves Jack Whitehall’s wedding for the golf course

They starred together in Sky’s A League Of Their Own and have been best mates for years.

But Freddie Flintoff, 48, did not attend Jack Whitehall’s wedding to Roxy Horner at the weekend and instead posted golfing content on social media.

Fellow stars of the popular show, Jamie Redknapp and James Corden were both in attendance and also went to Jack’s stag do last month, stopping off at a cheekily named mini-golf bar called Swingers and visiting a racy club.

But once again, Freddie was nowhere to be seen.

In contrast, Jamie took to Instagram on Monday to pay tribute to his mate and his new bride but Freddie is yet to publicly send his congratulations.

Jamie wrote: ‘Congratulations to Jack and Roxy on your big day. I honestly couldn’t be happier for you both. I think the world of you guys and I’m so proud to be there to see it all.

‘Jack, you’re like a little brother to me, although somehow still my favourite man baby. And Roxy, fair play… you’ve taken on a lifelong project there.

‘Wishing you both a lifetime of laughs, love, and just enough chaos to keep things interesting.

‘Have the best day, and an even better life together .’

Roxy, who has been dating Jack since lockdown in 2020 and they share a two-year-old daughter, Elsie.

Freddie had been expected to be on the high-profile wedding guest list.

He and Jack’s relationship goes way back – so much so that Jack revealed that he suffered from bulimia when he launched his television career in Flintoff’s Disney+ documentary.

The funnyman admitted the ‘pressures’ of the industry led to his eating disorder battle and it was something he kept quiet about until his good friend Andrew ‘Freddie’ Flintoff ‘bravely’ shared his own bulimia battle.

The Preston-born Ashes legend made a BBC documentary called Freddie Flintoff: Living with Bulimia, in 2020, where he revealed his struggle with the eating disorder at the start of his career when focus was put on his weight.

He went through his own battle while helping England roar to their first Ashes victory in 18 years in 2005.

Throughout their personal battles, the men have remained close.

In 2016, Freddie and Jack caused mischief with Jamie went on Sky Sports News HQ to talk all things Premier League after Leicester won their first ever title in the top flight and also discussed the future for Tottenham.

Distracting him in the background, Jamie said: It’s very difficult. You try to be professional but what can you do?

‘That’s what you get when you bring friends along… we’re talking about a very serious subject. Can I be serious now? How do you cope with this?’

Four years later, Jack and Freddie poured jugs of water over Jamie while he enjoyed a blissful nap on a sofa.

Freddie even tried to blow-dry his friend with a pump but the moody Sky Sports pundit bats him away after the unexpected prank.

Jamie grumpily complained: ‘I’m all wet now.’

But the stars are no strangers to pranking one another, as Jack famously texted Andy Murray a flirtatious message about his thighs from Jamie’s phone in 2017.

Jamie got the comedian back the same year when he stole Jack’s phone after he feel asleep and sent Orlando Bloom rude texts.

As well as the normal panel show, there have been three A League of Their Own Road Trip spin off series, with two in the US and one in Europe.

In February 2018, Jack stood down as a regular on A League Of Their Own to focus on his acting career but regularly reunited with his former co-stars and Freddie quit in 2022.

Daily Mail has contacted a spokesperson for both Freddie and Jack for more information.
