Alvaro Morata and his wife cancel plans to divorce

The topsy-turvy love story between Alvaro Morata and his model wife Alice Campello has taken another turn, with the duo set to cancel their plans to divorce for a second time.

Morata, 33, split with his Italian influencer wife Alice Campello, 31, after Spain’s Euro 2024 victory following a falling out on the field.

In August that year, they announced they were going their separate ways seven years after tying the knot. They rekindled their relationship last January but then split again.

The couple, who have four children together – twins Alessandro and Leonardo, seven, Edoardo, five, and Bella, three – split because they had difficulties in communication.

‘We are suffering because we are two people who love each other, but we don’t understand each other,’ Morata told Alexia Rivas, a contributor to the program Fiesta, at the time.

‘Alice isn’t having a worse time than me because many people say she’s the one who’s hurting. I want to make it clear that we’re both hurting, it’s not that she’s bitter, we’re both hurting.’

In January, Spanish magazine Hola reported that Morata had moved out of the family home he shares with Campello and their four young children – Alessandro, Leonardo (twins), Edoardo, and Bella.

According to Spanish journalist Javi Hoyos, though, they have once again decided to give their relationship another chance, and were snapped together at a Bad Bunny concert at Atletico Madrid’s Metropolitano Stadium over the weekend, as shared on Instagram account beatrizespejel.

Reports suggest they have in fact been back together for some time.

Campello posted on TikTok: ‘I really enjoy seeing your kindness, your gentleness, and your ability to understand others. I’m sure you’ll go even further, because when things are done with respect, affection, and courtesy, you always win. And thank you also for all the messages of support and love from those who are happy for us.’

In the midst of their break-up, Spanish reports claimed that Morata had an affair with Elena Sirigu, a sports management expert.

In relation to those accusations, Morata hit out at those rumours as untrue and that those fabricating them ‘have no heart’.

‘No special friend or anything like that, I’m not interested in that right now,’ he continued to Fiesta.

‘The day I have a special friend, I’ll walk around with her normally and you’ll see.

‘People who claim there are third parties involved in a separation like this, especially with children involved, simply have no heart.’

Morata’s words are aligned with Campello who previously denied suggestions that she had been cheated on.

‘Elena is a family friend whom I’ve known for years, and I can say with absolute certainty that she is not that kind of person and has never done anything she’s been accused of. I’m speaking out publicly because I’m deeply convinced of this,’ the Italian model and influencer wrote on social media.

‘She called me crying because of everything that’s been said about her, and she doesn’t deserve to be labelled a “family wrecker”.

‘I’m defending Elena because she’s innocent and because, as a woman, I know very well how much certain accusations can hurt, damage, and leave deep scars on someone’s personal, professional, and family life.

‘She doesn’t deserve this exposure or to have her name associated with things she hasn’t done.

‘Our relationship has always been clear: she even dedicated her undergraduate thesis to Masqmai [Campello’s beauty brand], and she’s a serious person with values and a respectable family.’
