Fergie reunited with her former bandmates from the Black Eyed Peas on Saturday – seven years after she left the LA group.
It was sort of a belated birthday celebration for the Fergalicious pop diva and Will.i.am – who both turned 50 in March – as well as Taboo and Apl.de.Ap, who turned 50 and 51 this year.
‘Finally got to break bread and celebrate our milestone birthdays together,’ Fergie (born Stacy Ferguson) captioned her Instagram slideshow.
‘What a special night with my brothers, filled with so much love.’
Will.i.am (born William Adams) called the ‘happy’ occasion ‘the best one yet’ while Taboo (born Jaime Gomez) said the get together was ‘a beautiful way to start this holiday season.’
The Black Eyed Peas were originally founded in 1995, but Fergie was only with the band between 2002-2011 and 2015-2018 before going solo and being replaced by vocalist J. Rey Soul.
The eight-time Grammy winner’s last song with the group was the 2016 remix of their song Where Is the Love and their final performance together was during The Beginning Massive Stadium Tour in 2011.
The Black Eyed Peas – who memorably headlined the Super Bowl XLV halftime show in 2011 – have sold over 80 million records and won six Grammy Awards.
Fergie previously wrote a letter to her childhood self during her milestone birthday on March 27.
‘Dear little Stacy, one day you’ll be 50 and you’ll be proud of yourself,’ the Kids Incorporated alum – who boasts 20.6 million social media followers – reflected.
‘You won’t have it all figured out, but you realize… who does? Success really is in the journey, and true happiness can be found in the smallest simple moments.
‘Keep loving deeply with all your heart, and keep working on yourself. It always all makes sense later. I love you.’
Fergie performed onstage for the first time in over seven years when she joined Ludacris at One Musicfest in Atlanta, GA on October 26 to belt her 2006 solo hit Glamorous.
Regardless, classic clips of the Too Much x London Bridge singer performing continue to be popular on TikTok including her jazzy rendition of the National Anthem in 2018 and her one-handed cartwheel performance on TODAY in 2008.
On the personal front, Fergie welcomed 12-year-old son Axl Jack during her eight-year marriage to Ransom Canyon actor Josh Duhamel, which ended in 2019.
