The most expensive England shirts: One costs more than a HOUSE DEPOSIT

England left the nation’s jaws on the floor a few days ago when they brought out their most expensive shirt ever at £134.99 ahead of this summer’s World Cup.

Even buying your child a ‘match’ England shirt will cost £114.99, a mammoth kick in the teeth amid the cost of living crisis.

The very cheapest kits are the ‘stadium’ version, but even they cost £89.99 for adults and £69.99 for juniors. If you want your name and number on the back, that’s an extra £60, please.

All this got us thinking: what is the most expensive England kit you could possibly buy?

Tread carefully if you’re going to read on because the numbers will knock your socks off.

After scouring various sites – namely eBay, Amazon, Facebook Marketplace, Google Shopping, and Vinted – the Daily Mail’s conclusion is that the costliest England kit out there is priced at £15,072.25.

This signed shirt from 2016 is the most expensive England kit online at £15,072.25

England's latest adult 'match' is retailing at £134.99, a record for a new Three Lions jersey

That’s right, you could buy a solitary shirt for a fee that would get you a house deposit in many parts of the country.

The offender in question is a ‘shirt with signatures of the senior England team’ from 2016.

It is apparently unused and in its original packaging with the tags attached, weighing in at a medium size.

The eBay seller, makstal94, is open to the ‘best offer’ if nobody plumps for the full price so there is a chanc of getting it for less, but if you want to guarantee your purchase, you’ll have to pay the full hog.

Unfortunately the signatures are that elaborate that it’s almost impossible to make out who they each belong to, but if this sort of momento floats your boat, it’s on the market.

This listing has been live since at least December, so it hasn’t exactly flown off the shelf.

The next-most expensive deal on the market certainly gives you more bang for your buck.

One seller, markb88uk, is flogging a gigantic collection of 43 full kits – shorts included – for £6,072.25.

A collection of 43 England kits is going for £6,072.25 - at least you get the shorts included!

This jersey signed by some of England's 2022 Women's Euros winners is selling for £5,972.25

The kits range from 1987 to 2015 – sadly no 1966 – are all in adult size, and are in good condition despite being previously used.

Potentially the only proble with purchasing such a selection is that you’d also have to get another wardrobe to go along with it, or your own dedicated football room to display them. That would be fun, if you have the cash and the space.

After that, we’ve got quite the treat with a signed jersey from England Women’s victorious 2022 European Championship campaign.

The vendor, moinw-74, wants £5,972.25 for this momento signed by 16 of Sarina Wiegman’s Lionesses.

Crucially, the seller also claims to have proof of authenticity from the Football Association, just so you know some randomer hasn’t signed the shirt and passed it off as original.

Next up, in fourth place, there’s an incredibly niche item which, in fairness, will be hard for anybody else to match.

It’s a signed shirt from beer brand Carlsberg’s advert going into the 2010 World Cup and has an array of signatures from celebrities across many disciplines who were involved with the advertisement.

And so you get Jack Charlton, Nigel Benn, Phil Taylor, Carl Fogarty, and Steve Redgrave on there.

If you fancy an England shirt signed by a load of sports stars and celebs, look no further than this for £4,222.25

Marcus Rashford wore this shirt in 2018 for Wayne Rooney's last England game - you can have it for £3,999.99

Not to mention Stuart Pearce; Kelly Holmes; Trevor Brooking; Ranulph Fiennes; Kasabian’s Tom Meighan, Sergio Pizzorno, Chris Edwards, and Ian Matthews; Sean Bean, Jeff Stelling, Ian Botham, and Ellen McArthur.

Just bizarre, frankly, but you can pick it up for £4,222.25 from seller dcmmudie29.

Finally, stooping to the lowly price of £3,999.99, we have a match-worn shirt.

The player who graced it was Marcus Rashford, back when England played the United States in 2018, a game the Three Lions won 3-0.

That was Wayne Rooney’s 119th and final match playing for England and as such, all 23 players signed the shirt. Not sure why it’s Rashford’s jersey rather than Rooney’s, but oh well.

The seller, Balli Sporting Icons, has been trying to sell this since at least May 2024 – lowering the price might help!
