Haaland becomes fastest ever player to score 100 Premier League goals

Erling Haaland rewrote Premier League history books on Tuesday night by reaching 100 goals in just 111 games, breaking Alan Shearer’s long-standing mark.

The Manchester City striker struck in the 17th minute at Craven Cottage, sweeping a powerful effort beyond Bernd Leno to bring up the landmark during the midweek meeting with Fulham.

The strike saw him surpass Shearer’s total, with the former Newcastle forward needing 124 matches to reach the same figure during the 1990s.

Haaland had earlier hit the post after breaking through the Fulham defence, and his second chance continued a relentless scoring run that has rewritten several Premier League records since his arrival from Borussia Dortmund in July 2022.

The Norwegian moved past legendary forwards including Thierry Henry, Sergio Aguero and Mohamed Salah to become the fastest man into the 100 club, with Henry requiring 141 games, Aguero 147 matches and Salah 162 appearances.

Haaland’s total on Tuesday night also pushed him comfortably clear at the top of this season’s scoring charts, with the 25-year-old now on 15 league goals, keeping distance between himself and Brentford’s Igor Thiago along with Brighton striker Danny Welbeck.

The forward has broken several competition records since joining City, including the single-season goals tally during the 2022-23 treble campaign when he scored 36 times and overtook Salah’s previous best of 32 goals in a 38-match season.

This latest strike added to a catalogue of milestones achieved before his 26th birthday, and it continued the form that has seen him dominate scoring tables for club and country across 2025.

Pep Guardiola’s men can move to within two points of Premier League leaders Arsenal with a win in west London.
