Pregnant Ellie Goulding dates women between relationships with men

Ellie Goulding has revealed that she’s dated women in between her ‘toxic, fleeting and passionate’ relationships with men in a candid confession about her love life.

The pregnant singer, 39, who is expecting her and boyfriend Beau Minniear’s first child, made the comments during an appearance on Sports Illustrated model Brooks Nader’s reality show Love Thy Nader. 

The pals, who shared a playful kiss back in 2024, were discussing relationships in a scenes filmed last summer, when Brooks, 28, newly-single following her split from Dancing with the Stars pro Gleb Savchenko, joked about potentially dating women.

‘Maybe I’ll go the other way,’ the model said, to which Ellie responded: ‘That’s what I do. It works every time.’

Ellie, who already shares son Alfred, four, with ex-husband Caspar Jopling, then went on to share her frank views on romance.

‘I think the most exciting love comes for a reason, and it’s toxic and fleeting and passionate and it’s amazing and you’re just like, no one else has ever experienced love like this’.

‘It’s all great song material, to be honest. Annoyingly, I do it for the plot so that I can write a song about it.’

Ellie, whose sixth studio album is due to be released in the next few months, added: ‘We should just appreciate it as the moment that it is, and then when it goes away, be appreciative that it’s happened and that we got to experience it.

‘It’s all about being the amazing woman that you are and then guys are just an accessory every now and again.’

The comments were filmed shortly before she was linked to actor Beau last July, but aired recently on the show.

She revealed her pregnancy in December when she walked the red carpet heavily pregnant at the 2025 Fashion Awards.

Since her relationship with Beau went public in September 2025, the pair have holidayed together in Italy, where Beau shared online an intimate photograph of Ellie lying in an unmade hotel room bed.

He also appears in several raunchy scenes in Ellie’s latest music video, Destiny. 

When pictures emerged in 2024 of Ellie and Brazilian surf instructor Armando Perez kissing passionately in the sea, the mother-of-one then took the decision to make public that her five-year marriage to Caspar, 33, had previously come to an end.

Confirming their split on Instagram, she wrote: ‘In light of recent stories, I feel I have been left with no choice but to let you all know that Caspar and I privately separated some time ago.

‘We remain the closest of friends and have been successfully co-parenting with our son’s best interests at heart.’

Ellie met Radio 1 host Greg James, now 38, at one of her live shows, and dated before ending their relationship ‘amicably’ due to the pressures of work commitments after 18-months.

A source Told The Sun at the time: ‘It was just a real struggle for them to be in the same place at the same time.’

Before adding: ‘The split is amicable and they are still friends.’

Then she and American musical Skrillex, 37, real name Sonny John Moore, enjoyed a brief seven month romance in 2012 but broke up when she found the long distance aspect of the relationship too difficult to deal with. 

Ellie later dated actor Irvine Jeremy, 35, for a little under a year, before he made it big in films like War Horse and Mama Mia: Here We Go Again. 

The hitmaker and Sheeran Ed, 34, were linked to each other after they were spotted holding hands at the MTV VMA awards in August 2013.

But Ellie immediately took to Twitter to deny that anything was going on between the pair, claiming they were just good friends.

Meanwhile, in 2015, she admitted to a fling with Niall Horan, 31, but insisted she never dated Ed in an interview with Elle. 

She said: ‘I did go on a few dates with Niall, but I was never in a relationship with Ed [Sheeran]. I have absolutely no idea where that came from and why it was turned into such a big thing.

‘I find it so frustrating that female musicians are constantly defined by the men they have or haven’t dated. It’s something I’ve talked about with Taylor (Swift) a lot. She definitely feels that.

Ellie dated McFly drummer Dougie Poynter, 37, for two years before reportedly ending their romance in 2016 and is one of her most high profile unions.

When their relationship came to an end, Ellie said: ‘I’m not in a relationship any more and that’s been hard. Having a break will be a good thing for me and my head.

Meanwhile earlier this week it was revealed this week that Ellie has been made a Member of the Order of the British Empire (MBE) for services to biodiversity and the climate.

The chart-topping pop star, who is a global environmental ambassador for the UN, was recognised in the New Year Honours list.

Having spent more than 15 years in the music industry, Goulding has amassed a range of awards and nominations, including a musician of the year award from Harper’s Bazaar, two Brits, and two Grammy nods.

Outside of music, Goulding is an activist and philanthropist, having raised awareness for environmental causes and women’s issues.

She is patron of The Marylebone Project, which provides services for homeless women, and is an ambassador for the World Wide Fund for Nature (WWF).

She was appointed a global goodwill ambassador for the UN Environment Programme in 2017 and is now a global environmental ambassador.
