Demi Moore declared that a ‘bold beautiful new chapter begins’ as she showed off her striking shorter locks despite saying she would never cut her hair.

The Oscar nominee, 63, wowed fans on Friday when she debuted her new hairstyle at the Gucci show during Milan Fashion Week.

Demi, who is famous for her long, sleek black hair, has entered a new era by chopping off her locks in favour of a new wavy bob cut.

Taking to Instagram after the Gucci show, Demi showed off her new look as she said: ‘A bold, beautiful new chapter begins!’

Demi’s decision to get a bob cut comes despite her saying previously that she would never cut her hair as having long locks into her 60s was her own way of not conforming to patriarchal norms.

After returning to her hotel room after Friday’s show, Demi again displayed her new hairstyle as she shared a clip of herself having a boogie along to her singer daughter Scott LaRue Willis’s new song.

It comes after she said she would never cut her hair

Demi was seen again displaying her bob cut as she danced on the balcony, writing: ‘So proud of my girl @scoutlaruewillis!

‘Her new single “So Many Ways” is out now. Listening and loving all the way from Italy ♥️.’

Fans flooded her with compliments on Friday after she debuted her new look, writing: ‘Wow, I love everything about this post. You look sensational. I love the cut’;

‘Love the hair! Tres chic!’; ‘Stunning hair makes you look even more beautiful and younger’;

‘The hair looks amazing! It’s been so long for so long and this just looks so fresh!’;

‘Omg that new hairstyle is so good’; ‘KILLER LOOK HELLO???’

However in 2022, Demi claimed she would never cut her famous long locks.

‘I’ve done everything to my hair. I’ve shaved it. I’ve dyed it. I’ve had a bob. When I’m not working, I try to do as little to it as possible,’ she told People.

‘It’s stressful even having someone touch it. If I don’t have anywhere to go, I don’t put heat on it—I just try to let it do its own thing. And I don’t wash it too often,’ she added.

She added that she’s most comfortable now with her long hair, and that she gets ‘tiny trims’ or ‘dustings,’ though she said she’d be, ‘hard-pressed’ to cut it all off again.

‘I think now that I’m older, I also know, I don’t have anything to prove. So if they really need my hair different, they can give me a wig,’ she said, adding, ‘also not as clear how it would grow back!’

She also added that having long hair into her 60s is her own way of not conforming to patriarchal norms.

‘I remember hearing someone say that when women get older, they shouldn’t have long hair. And something about that stuck with me,’ Demi said.

‘Like who says? It made me feel like, well, if it can grow and it’s not unhealthy, then why shouldn’t we?’ she continued.

‘I’m not comfortable with rules that don’t seem to have any real meaning or justification,’ she added.
