Cruz Beckham showed off his singing skills as he played The Stone Roses hit Shoot You Down on guitar, following the death of bassist Gary ‘Mani’ Mounfield.

Last month, The Stone Roses paid an emotional tribute to Mani after his brother Greg sadly announced on Facebook: ‘It is with the heaviest of hearts that I have to announce the sad passing of my brother. Gary Mani Mounfield RIP.’

Now Cruz, 20, has taken to Instagram to share a video of himself confidently strumming his guitar and performing his own rendition of the band’s 1989 classic, Shoot You Down.

The budding musician sported a red graphic-print T-shirt and grey jogging bottoms as he belted out the track.

Fans flocked to the comments to praise Cruz’s ‘beautiful’ voice and guitar skills.

One fan wrote: ‘How beautiful, this Man has potential, a beautiful voice, the music is nice to hear in his voice.’; ‘Looking forward to your music lp! Cheers!’

Elsewhere on Instagram, Cruz posted a mirror selfie of himself and his father, David, 50, spending time with sports agent Dave Gardner and singer Marc Anthony.

He also shared a sweet throwback snap of his younger self, dated June 25, 2015, on a digital camera.

Cruz’s singing post comes almost two weeks after The Stone Roses’ iconic bassist Mani died at the age of 63.

Gary is understood to have died at his home in Heaton Moor Stockport after collapsing following a seizure.

Family sources say that an ambulance was called, but he couldn’t be revived.

The Stone Roses took to X to share a throwback photo of Gary playing the bass and wrote: ‘RIP our wonderful brother Mani. The greatest bass player and friend we could ever have wished for. X’.

Lead singer Ian Brown, 62, took to his own page to share his tribute: ‘Rest In Peace Mani’.

Ian also reshared a fan post, which included a throwback photo of when they met the band.

The fan wrote: ‘Absolutely gutted to read Mani, the Stone Roses’s bassist, has died. In 2016, I spotted him, Reni & @ianbrown chilling in a bar – and plucked up the courage to say hi.

‘They couldn’t have been nicer. No airs n graces. Just funny, warm & charming.Thank u for the music Mani. RIP x’ [sic].

Sources told the Daily Mail that Noel and Liam Gallagher were informed of Mani’s death on Thursday afternoon, just hours before his brother Greg made the announcement, and the brothers are said to be ‘absolutely heartbroken’.

It comes just two years after his wife Imelda Mounfield died from cancer. Imelda, who had twin sons, was diagnosed with bowel cancer three years ago.
