Coronation Street reveals the SIX suspects in dramatic Whodunnit

Coronation Street has unveiled six suspects in a dramatic whodunnit – after fans were thrilled by villain Theo Silverton’s grim death.

Back in February, the ITV soap teased one of five characters would meet their maker on April 23, which became known as Murder Week.

Viewers learned last week that it was scaffolder Theo (James Cartwright) who met his demise, after months of abusive behaviour to husband Todd (Gareth Pierce).

Although while fans now know who died, the new mystery is who was responsible for Theo’s death.

Six suspects have emerged – as DS Lisa Swain (Vicky Myers) and DC Kit Green (Jacob Roberts) launch their hunt for the killer with intense interrogations.

While the street’s residents struggles to come to terms with a murderer living among them, the suspects fight to keep their secrets under wraps as pressure mounts.

This week, Todd, George (Tony Maudsley) and Gary (Mikey North) are in the firing line under interrogation.

Coming weeks will see Summer (Harriet Bibby), Christina (Amy Robbins) and Danielle (Natalie Anderson) also come under suspicion.

There’s no shortage of motives either, with Todd having survived Theo’s abuse, but did he take the ultimate revenge?

Kindly undertaker George views Todd as a son and is fiercely maintaining his innocence, but is his desperation to protect someone else a cover for his own deadly crime?

Could it be Todd’s friend Gary who has killed before, or Summer, who recently learned that Theo killed her beloved adoptive dad Billy?

Meanwhile, George’s partner Christina has her loyalty pushed to the limit in upcoming scenes and Danielle’s motives to kill her ex-husband are also explored.

Before Theo was revealed as the dead body, other characters in the frame were Megan Walsh (Beth Nixon), Jodie Ramsey (Olivia Frances-Brown), Carl Webster (Jonathan Howard) and Maggie Driscoll (Pauline McLynn).

Although Corrie kept fans guessing, online sleuths previously thought they spotted a big clue in the murder week mystery.

It saw Carl Webster actor Jonathan post a selfie to Instagram with co-stars Alan Halsall (Tyrone Dobbs), Vinta Morgan (Ronnie Bailey) and Michael Le Vell (Kevin Webster).

He captioned the update: ‘Sun finally came out to say hello on the cobbles today…’

As Jonathan was seemingly still filming on the cobbles, fans believed this ruled out Carl from being the murder victim.

Fans wrote: ‘Oh, so one less murder victim suspect. I’m pleased.’

‘Ooo… Carl isn’t the one who ends up dead on the 23rd then…’

‘Oooooo Carl doesn’t die!’

‘Well I’m guessing Carl doesn’t die!! Spoiler alert lol.’

Speaking to The Mirror, actor James said of Theo’s death: ‘Something needs to happen to him. He can’t go on like that, we need justice.

‘Soap is a very moral medium. We want our underdogs to triumph and our baddies to meet their end.

‘Being part of the show and the way we have, in terms of the arc Theo has been on, has been one of the great joys and privileges of my life.

‘There is the knowledge that sooner or later he will meet his end and then there’s great satisfaction.’

Coronation Street airs on ITV1 and ITVX.
