Clubber dies in Manchester street after falling ill inside the venue

A man tragically died in the street in the early hours of the morning after falling ill inside a nightclub in Manchester.

The reveller, in his 20s, is thought to have suffered a medical episode in the early hours of Saturday.

Emergency services scrambled to Portland Street around 5.45am, where they found the man unconscious and desperately tried to save him.

However, he was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police say there are no suspicious circumstances surrounding his death.

It’s understood that staff at a nearby nightclub helped the man leave the venue shortly before closing time because he felt unwell.

The staff then checked on him shortly before his death.
