Classmate sums up Charlie Kirk’s ‘assassin’ in just two chilling words

Classmate sums up Charlie Kirk’s ‘assassin’ in just two chilling words,

A former high school classmate of Charlie Kirk’s alleged assassin, Tyler Robinson, has spoken out about him, offering insight into his behavior and online habits.

Jordan Brann, who attended Pine View High School in St. George, Utah, posted a video on TikTok calling Robinson a ‘Reddit kid,’ a slang term used to describe young people heavily influenced by the internet.

The phrase often carries a mocking tone, implying someone is deeply immersed in online communities, memes, or internet-driven beliefs.

‘I went to school with Tyler Robinson,’ Brann said in the now-deleted TikTok.

He added that he was not friends with Robinson but had seen him consistently over three years of high school.

‘All I am going to say is that this is what happens when you spend too much time online and all of a sudden your beliefs are all the way this way or all the way this way, and you do some dramatic stuff to please these people that are not your friends,’ Brann said.

Brann later shared a second video clarifying that he intended to illustrate the effects of excessive internet use on young people.

The video amassed over two million views in three days, sparking a frenzy online about the dangers of the internet.

The Daily Mail has reached out to Brann for comment.

Robinson, 22, was arrested on suspicion of assassinating Kirk, 31, at Utah Valley University on Wednesday.

Kirk, founder of the youth conservative group Turning Point USA, was gunned down with a single shot from a rooftop during a campus speaking event on September 10.

Authorities said Robinson inscribed messages on bullets referring to internet culture and anti-fascist sentiments before firing the shot that killed Kirk.

According to Utah Governor Spencer Cox, one of the bullets was engraved with ‘Notices bulge OwO, what’s this?’, a meme used to troll ‘furries’ and transgender people.

Furries are a community that adopts anthropomorphized animal personas, sometimes in a sexual context.

The website ‘Know Your Meme’ points to the phrase reportedly engraved on the bullet being used online to troll furries.

OWO is intended to represent a wide-eyed face of surprise, with ‘notices bulge’ referring to the male appendage.

Charlie Kirk, founder of the youth conservative group Turning Point USA, was gunned down with a single shot from a rooftop during a campus speaking event on September 10.

Another engraving said, ‘Hey Fascists! Catch’, alongside an up arrow, a right arrow symbol and another three arrows pointing downwards.

The symbols could be a reference to the Iron Front, a paramilitary group set up in opposition to the Nazi Party during the Weimar Republic period in Germany.

Social media users have also pointed to a video game called Helldivers 2, a 2024 shooter game.

A code to call in an airstrike in the game requires the player to hit up, right, followed by hitting down three times.

Another was engraved with the words of the prominent Italian anti-fascist song ‘Bella Ciao’, which is dedicated to the Italian resistance who fought against Nazism.

The final unfired casing was inscribed with: ‘If you read this, you are gay LMAO’, Cox added. LMAO is an internet acronym for ‘laughing my a** off’.

Robinson, a Washington County native, was arrested less than 34 hours later after his father recognized him in FBI-released surveillance footage.

Authorities said he confessed to family members, who tipped off law enforcement, leading to his capture in a wooded area near his St George apartment.

Robinson’s alleged transgender partner shared a post online appearing to show support for President Joe Biden, the Daily Mail can reveal.

Lance Twiggs, a 22-year-old wannabe pro gamer and roommate of the main suspect, Robinson, also 22, remarked in a Reddit post.

Twiggs goes by the name ‘lancelotte’ on social media accounts including Instagram.

A Steam gaming account currently called ‘fluxalotl’ previously had the username ‘lancelotte’ as well as slight variation ‘lancelott3’, and is friends with a user named ‘Craftin247’ – an account linked to the shooter.

‘Lancelotte’ had their ‘real name’ listed on Steam as ‘Lance’ – until December 11 last year, when the gamer changed it to ‘Luna’.

An account on online forum Reddit with the username ‘lancelott3’ posted extensively in a group for transgender issues, and in one conversation on the site, mentioned that they were from Utah.

A post from the same account was made to the ‘Love for Landlords’ subreddit, where users share trolling posts pretending to show support for landlords.

Lancelott3’s comment read: ‘We are riding with Biden on this glorious subreddit.’

A post from one year ago by the same user also discussed medications to ‘slow beard growth’ and ‘get good hip growth’.

Lancelott3 also told members of an ‘ex-Christian’ subreddit that he ‘was told I was possessed by a demon and then within 30 mins kicked outta the house because I started laughing and wouldn’t go to the bishop for a blessing’.

Twiggs’s family appears to be conservative Christians, based on their social media profiles. His sister follows Kirk’s widow, Erika, on Instagram.

Brann shared an image of Robison in their school yearbook, pointing to the alleged assassin’s picture and name in the book.

‘The best way I can describe him is a Reddit Kid,’ Brann said. ‘I feel like if you were in high school around that same time, and even probably now, you know those kinds of kids,’ he added. ‘That’s exactly what he was.’

Brann made a follow-up video shortly after to clarify that he was not friends with Robinson, noting that there are ‘at least 100 if not more people’ who knew him better.

‘What he seemed like was the type of kid who spent a lot of time online,’ said Brann.

‘I wanted to make the video because I wanted to show what too much internet does to people.’

The suspect in Charlie Kirk's assassination was been identified as Tyler Robinson, a 22-year-old Utah resident, on Friday

Years before being named as the alleged shooter, Robinson was a member of the auto mechanics club at the high school.

In a section where students were asked for their favorite subject, he wrote: ‘Math, it makes more sense than English.’

Other former classmates have described Robinson as an unremarkable, normal student who had friends and mainly hung out with members of the school band.

He had good grades and was awarded a four-year scholarship to Utah State University, but only attended for one semester before he dropped out to enroll in Dixie Technical College.

At the time of the shooting, he was a third-year student at the college in the electrical apprenticeship program.

Robinson was unmasked as the alleged shooter on Friday following a two-day manhunt, which came to an end after his father recognized him through FBI photos and confronted his son.

He was taken into custody around 11pm local time in southern Utah on Thursday night.

He faces charges of aggravated murder, felony discharge of a firearm causing serious bodily injury and obstruction of justice, according to a probable cause affidavit. Authorities said at a press conference on Thursday night that Robinson will face the death penalty if convicted.

At a press conference on Friday morning, Cox began his remarks by declaring: ‘We got him.’
