Trump bashes those whining about ballroom after Correspondents’ Dinner

President Donald Trump has argued that the shooting at Saturday’s Correspondents’ Dinner is ‘exactly the reason’ why a ballroom should be constructed at the White House.

Saturday night’s annual press event erupted into chaos when shots rang out, as harrowing images revealed top administration officials rushing out of the Washington Hilton.

A gunman stormed security at the hotel, prompting several armed agents to rush the suspect and exchange gunfire.

A Secret Service member was shot in their protective gear and was injured but is expected to recover. Everyone else was unharmed. Law enforcement officials later confirmed the suspect as a California teacher named Cole Thomas Allen, 31.

The president argued in a post on Truth Social that a White House ballroom would have prevented the shooting, writing: ‘What happened last night is exactly the reason that our great Military, Secret Service, Law Enforcement and, for different reasons, every President for the last 150 years, have been DEMANDING that a large, safe, and secure Ballroom be built ON THE GROUNDS OF THE WHITE HOUSE.’

Trump’s construction on the White House has prompted a slew of backlash, but the president has now claimed that, in light of the recent incident, the ballroom ‘cannot be built fast enough.’

‘While beautiful, it has every highest level security feature there is plus, there are no rooms sitting on top for unsecured people to pour in, and is inside the gates of the most secure building in the World, The White House,’ he added.

As reporters huddled on the floor and underneath the tables, Patel yelled ‘stay down.’
