Carole Middleton channels Molly-Mae as she steps out at Royal Ascot

Carole Middleton channelled her inner Molly-Mae Hague as she stepped out in a £325 lace dress at Royal Ascot yesterday.

The mother of the Princess of Wales, who was also expected to appear at the racecourse on Wednesday but she pulled out at the last minute, looked effortlessly radiant in the vibrant ME+EM gown.

The striking yellow two-tone lace dress combined opaque and sheer textures, crafted from lace with a peach sorbet base and vibrant yellow cord-embroidered detailing.

The 70-year-old was the picture of elegance as she paired the gown with a matching wide-brim hat, minimal jewellery, and a blush-coloured Emmy London clutch.

Butter yellow has undeniably taken centre stage as this season’s standout shade, with experts at Google revealing the search term ‘butter yellow’ has risen 82 percent since the start of 2025.

Yellow lace dresses are especially on trend right now, as former Love Island star Molly-Mae Hague recently wore a similar style by House of CB to a wedding in Cannes, promptly sending the product flying off the shelves.

The £199 gown was part of the brand’s ‘Honey Harvest’ Collection, and features delicate detail, as well as a romantic, floral pattern.

Molly-Mae, 26, donned the figure-flattering dress in a slew of Instagram snaps from her friends nuptials.

The influencer completed the look with slicked‑back hair, bold gold earrings, and a tonal Chanel bag.

While Carole oozed elegance and understated glamour in this years colour trend, Molly-Mae went for a very different approach.

The Love Island star opted for a plunging neckline and fitted silhouette for a sexier take on the fashion trend.

It’s safe to say both women, despite their 44-year age gap, pulled off the stunning ensembles and added their own unique flair.

Carol delivered timeless elegance fit for the prestigious Royal Ascot, while Molly-Mae oozed glamour for her friends trendy wedding.

As the summer season of 2025 gets underway, the royals are certainly choosing to embrace the pastel shade.

Last month Kate Middleton made her first appearance at the Buckingham Palace garden party since 2023 – having missed last year while she was having cancer treatment.

She wore an Emilia Wickstead butter yellow coat dress with a scoop neckline, structured shoulders and a wrap detail at the waist which she last wore for Queen Elizabeth’s Platinum Jubilee (it’s surprisingly still in stock).

She paired the dress with a hat by Phillip Treacy and the Robinson Pelham oak leaf and acorns earrings she wore on her wedding day.

Meanwhile Zara Tindall recently appeared at a charity gala evening wearing a Leo Lin butter yellow mini dress with structured shoulders and a flattering A-line silhouette, which sold soon after.

She paired the look with with a pair of gold pumps from designer Julia Mays, stacked with gold bangles and a silver clutch.

Apart from the royals, celebs have also jumped on the summer trend, as TV presenter Cat Deeley, 48, opted for the pastel yellow fashion hit on This Morning last month.

She donned River Island’s Embellished Mini Dress which is priced at £75 and featured rhinestone details and a bow.

The sleek, sleeveless design has a round neckline and a tailored skirt, while the top adds layers and makes the piece seem more designer label than high street.

Cat styled the butter yellow mini dress with strappy, gold heels and wore her long blonde hair down over her shoulders.

Since Cat wore the outfit, fans have been eagerly purchasing it from River Island and it is available in a range of sizes, as well in as black or white.

Elsewhere Kate Moss was spotted in the colour last month as she posed up a storm for a fashion photoshoot in central London.

The model, 51, showed off her toned pins in a floaty yellow £320 mini dress during the shoot for brand Self-Portrait at London’s Claridge’s Hotel.

Kate looked stylish in the summery outfit, which she teamed with a pair of black flats and a straw clutch bag.

At one point the stunner added a black velvet blazer over the broderie anglaise dress, which smartened up the look for the shoot.

Kate highlighted her radiant complexion with a minimal make-up palette, while her blonde locks were left to cascade over her shoulders.

After shooting stills in Mayfair, the photoshoot then continued at a house in West London.
