Brooke Shields has lifted the lid on her romance with John F Kennedy Jr almost 40 years after they had a brief thing.
The 60-year-old actress was involved with JFK Jr – the late son of murdered US President John F Kennedy – in the late 1980s.
The two met on a skiing trip in Aspen, Colorado when the model turned actress was in her early twenties and making films like Endless Love and Sahara.
Now the Mother Of The Bride star has confirmed the pair ‘dated’ but the relationship never turned physical.
During an appearance on Watch What Happens Live With Andy Cohen, Shields explained: ‘I didn’t have a love story, I had a crazy, crazy crush.’
And then she answered the big question on whether they ever had sex: ‘We dated but I never slept with him so I don’t know if that counts … He was lovely to me.’

Kennedy’s relationship with his wife Carolyn Bessette Kennedy was explored in Ryan Murphy’s TV show Love Story and the icon admitted she binged the whole series.
She said: ‘I watched it start to finish. I loved it. I thought the acting was amazing.’
The Calvin Klein model previously revealed her daughter Rowan Henchy, 23, worked as a production assistant on Love Story and she let the actress know her name was going to be mentioned in the series.
Brooke told People: ‘That was a little weird. I was away, and my daughter called me and she says: “Oh my God, you’re mentioned in Love Story,” and she’s like: “Is it true?”
‘I was like: “OK, I’d be happy to tell you all the stories if you want, but yes [it’s true].”‘
Shields has previously opened up about sharing a kiss with Kennedy during their romance.
During an appearance on The Howard Stern Show in 2023, the actress said: ‘He kissed me, and it was like the best kiss I’ve ever had in my life. It was beyond not-disappointing. The lips are beautiful, and the face is amazing, and the body and the person, and he was down to earth and funny and irreverent.’

She added of the relationship: ‘It was beyond not-disappointing. I froze though because he was so precious to me. I was like: “Oh, my God, you’re falling in love, and if you sleep with him he may not talk to you again – and you can’t handle that.”
‘I wasn’t playing a game. I really was just so afraid of being really hurt, because if I slept with him I would’ve given him my entire universe, my heart, my everything.’
Kennedy and his wife Bessette were killed in a plane crash in 1999 which also claimed the life of Carolyn’s sister Lauren.
When talking to Howard Stern in 2023, Shields said his behavior was ‘less than chivalrous’, including failing to get her a cab home after she declined to bed him, then ignoring her when they met on the ski slopes the next day.

The actress and model said ever since her days of child stardom, her mother would point out JFK Jr. and tell her: ‘That’s the boy you’re going to marry’.
But while describing their only meeting, Stern’s insistence that men ‘don’t say no’ to her was met with laughter from Shields.
‘I wish I was that confident,’ she said, before noting that after the two skied together on the trip, he failed to help her when she got stuck on the mountain.
Despite their early ski slope fiasco, Shields said she still agreed to go on a brief date with him soon after, which again got off to a rocky start.
‘He kept saying I looked like his mother,’ she revealed. ‘Which was really interesting, it was a compliment, but also like “I don’t know how to feel about this?”‘
Their ‘date’ saw JFK Jr. take the actress back to his ski chalet after they both attended a Kennedy family drinking session on the vacation, which led to a passionate embrace that she described as ‘the best kiss I have ever had in my life’.
‘It was beyond not disappointing’, she added. ‘The lips are beautiful, and the face is amazing, and the body and the person… and he was down to earth’.
But while her childhood fantasy was finally coming true, Shields said she ‘froze’, and declined to take the date to the bedroom because she feared her ‘love’ for him wouldn’t be reciprocated.
‘I was so afraid of being really hurt, because if I slept with him, I would have given him by entire universe, my heart, my everything,’ she added.
Their brief romance came to an abrupt halt, however, when the playboy made her get her own cab home, a move she described as ‘a little less than chivalrous’.
‘He didn’t have to though, he had women falling at his feet,’ continued Shields, noting Kennedy’s many famous girlfriends including actress Daryl Hannah and Madonna.

Shields said she saw Kennedy once more, the next day on the ski slope, where he ‘didn’t talk’ to her – another move that made her relieved she’d decided not to sleep with him.
The actress said her initial reaction was to think, ‘Thank God… because he might still not have talked to you, even if you had [slept with him].
‘He showed his true colors in that,’ she added.
Before his death in a tragic plane crash in 1999, Kennedy was known internationally as a playboy who dated a string of high-profile celebrity bombshells.
Among his many romances was fashion icon Carolyn Bessette, who shot to fame as both Kennedy’s first and only wife as well as her work with Calvin Klein.
As the son of 35th President John F. Kennedy, the playboy entertained numerous starlets through the years, which also included a reported fling with Madonna.
According to the Irish Central, his romance with the music icon occurred in 1988, the same year he was named Sexiest Man Alive by People magazine.
While that alleged affair was reportedly ended by Kennedy’s mother Jacqueline, other starlets to have dated him included actress Daryl Hannah, who was on-off with Kennedy for over five years.
Acting icon Sarah Jessica Parker also had a brief relationship with Kennedy, but she admitted she never knew ‘real fame’ until dating him and later said their relationship failed because he was ‘a public domain kind of guy’.
