Inside the luxury rehab where Britney Spears checked in for $140k stay

The luxurious rehab facility where Britney Spears sought treatment after her DUI arrest has been revealed.

TMZ has confirmed that the pop princess, 44, was holed up at Borden Cottage in Camden, Maine, before leaving earlier this month.

While Borden Cottage may sound quaint, it’s actually one of the most expensive rehab centers in the country.

According to Recovery.com, a 45-day stay at the cottage, which is their minimum, can cost up to $140,000.

Although she left after less than three weeks at the luxe digs, Spears reportedly received care for both substance abuse and mental health while there.

Borden Cottage treats just eight patients at a time to ensure highly-personalized care from the staff.

In addition to traditional treatments, the cottage also offers holistic practices.

Patients have access to wellness activities like yoga, tai chi, and personal training to keep their bodies fit and healthy while healing.

Other modalities include cognitive behavioral therapy, dialectical behavioral therapy, mindfulness, art therapy, and group therapy.

The interior is just as stunning, with shabby chic bedrooms for an inviting feel, along with large windows throughout for natural light.

A representative for Spears, 44, previously confirmed to the Daily Mail that the singer had ‘voluntarily checked herself into a treatment facility.’

‘She realizes she hit rock bottom,’ an insider told TMZ at the time.

Spears has had yearslong issues with substances such as alcohol and the ADHD medication Adderall, sources told the publication.

Her decision to enter treatment came roughly a month after she was arrested on suspicion of DUI in Ventura County, California, on March 4.

In the incident, authorities said the Toxic singer appeared to be ‘driving under the influence of a combination of drugs and alcohol.’

Celebrity Intelligence was the first to break the news about Spears entering rehab. An insider told the publication of the DUI, ‘This situation served as a wake-up call.’

Spears ‘acknowledges that her behavior has not been healthy and genuinely wants to seek help,’ the insider told the newsletter.

The Circus singer also had her pending court case in connection with the DUI in mind when she committed to the 30-day rehab program, an insider told TMZ.

‘She knows strategically this will look good in front of the judge – that she’s taking it seriously,’ a source told the outlet of the case, which was handled on May 4.

Despite being expected to stay in the facility for at least 30 days, she left in less than three weeks.

Earlier this week, Spears pleaded guilty at her arraignment at Ventura County Superior Court, two months after she was arrested for DUI.

The 44-year-old did not appear in court, but entered a guilty plea via her lawyer, Michael Goldstein.

Spears was sentenced to 12 months’ probation, a day in jail, which she’s already served, and ordered to enroll in a three-month alcohol and drug education program after accepting a plea deal in DUI cases known as a ‘wet reckless’.

This allows the driver to plead guilty to reckless driving involving alcohol and/or drugs – a lesser charge that carries a much lighter sentence.

The deal is reserved for defendants with no prior history of DUI, with a low blood alcohol level, when there is no injury or crash, and when the subject shows ‘self-motivation to address underlying issues through rehabilitation or a drug and alcohol program.’

Ventura County Superior Court Commissioner Matthew Nemerson also fined Spears $721 and ordered her to see a psychologist once a week and a psychiatrist twice a month.

He also told the troubled singer not to use alcohol or drugs, apart from prescription medications and ruled that police could search her vehicle without a warrant if she is pulled over again.

In March, Spears was stopped by cops responding to reports that she was allegedly driving her black BMW erratically and at high speed on the 101 freeway.
