Fifteen people rushed to hospital after ‘boat explosion’ in Miami

At least 15 people were taken to the hospital after a boat reportedly exploded at a Miami beach on Saturday. 

The Miami-Dade Fire Rescue responded to a call about a potential boat explosion at Haulover Beach on Saturday around 1pm. 

The explosion reportedly happened near the sand bar, the Miami Herald reported. 

Upon arrival, firefighters escalated the call to a Level 2 Mass Casualty Incident and more than 25 units responded to the call, CBS News reported. 

It is unknown if there are any fatalities or what may have caused the potential explosion. 

Emergency personnel are still at the scene. Authorities have not confirmed if a boat exploded. 

The beach is best known for being a nudist beach. It one of the top 10 nudist beaches in the world.
