Awkward moment crows RIP out Rapunzel’s hair at Tokyo Disney Sea

Things go wrong even in ‘the most magical place on Earth’ and this time, Rapunzel has become the victim of two pesky crows.

A video shared on X, formerly Twitter, shows Rapunzel’s tower at Tokyo Disney Sea in Japan and the audio-animatronic princess figure leaning out of the window.

The tower is part of the Rapunzel’s Forest in the Fantasy Springs area of the park.

In the clip, which slowly zooms into the structure, two crows can be seen sat on Rapunzel’s head and the windowsill.

Both are menacingly tugging hair out of the figure as people watch on, their beaks full of her blonde tresses.

The robot princess continues to sway her head and sing as normal.

Crows use a variety of materials to build nests, including sticks, cloth and animal hair – or in this case, Rapunzel’s long braid.

The video was captioned, ‘Rapunzel at the Lantern Festival, her hair getting eaten by crows, dude!!!!!’

An animatronic Rapunzel at Tokyo Disney Sea had her hair ripped out by two pesky crows at the top of her tower

It attracted many comments from viewers and one quipped: ‘It’s got that nice fluffy feel that’d make for a good nest, huh?’

Another added: ‘It’s so hilariously surreal how it’s just casually singing away while a crow is munching on its hair.’

The original poster penned: ‘It’s from the 11 AM slot today! The crows were absolutely devouring it, and that was all I could focus on.’

Someone else revealed Rapunzel appears to have been removed from the tower, sharing an image on X of the empty window with the caption, ‘Rapunzel is not here right now!’

The Daily Mail approached Disney for comment.

It’s the latest Disney mishap after Olaf malfunctioned during a recent demo at Disneyland Paris.

Last week, Disneyland Paris opened its highly anticipated World of Frozen land, drawing massive crowds of young fans eager to meet their favourite characters in person.

Found at Disney Adventure World, the newly rebranded second park at Disneyland Paris, the park features a musical boat attraction leading to Elsa’s Ice Palace, as well as a reimagined Arendelle Village, along with opportunities to meet Anna, Elsa, Hans, and a life-sized Olaf in person.

A TikTok video has captured the moment an animatronic Olaf malfunctioned and crashed to the ground in front of stunned onlookers at Disneyland Paris' new World of Frozen land this week

Standing around three feet tall to match his film height, the Olaf robot is wrapped in fluffy fabric for a ‘snowy’ look and is even voiced by Josh Gad, the actor who voices the snowman in the film.

However, just days after his debut, Olaf fell backwards during a performance, losing its carrot nose as young children watched on in horror.

Unlike the still versions on park rides, Olaf can roam freely and interact with guests with the help of AI and Disney Imagineering robotics.

But just days after debuting on March 29 at Disneyland Paris, the snowman suffered a hilarious – and very public – malfunction.

A viral TikTok video posted by @magictourclub captures the moment the high-tech robot collapsed during a live appearance with Prince Hans.

The clip – captioned ‘POV: You waited 30 minutes to see Olaf and then this happens’ – shows a huge crowd of visitors ranging from adults to very young children.

The robot can be seen seizing up for a few seconds before falling backwards in a stiff motion onto the pavement. Its detachable carrot nose can also be seen rolling away from the scene

In the clip, the animatronic, which appeared to initially captivate guests with its gestures and dialogue, suddenly seizes up with a wide-eyed expression.

Within seconds, the robot falls backwards in a stiff motion onto the pavement, leading to panicked screams from guests.

As Olaf lays motionless, its carrot nose can be seen bouncing away from the scene, before it’s swiftly picked up by a member of staff and reattached.

The animatronic is then calmly carried away by staff as gasps turn to laughter in the crowd.

The video has drawn hundreds of hilarious responses from viewers, who recommended Olaf be ‘given a cup of coffee’ to keep him awake during interactions.
