Aston Villa CONFIRM signing of Manchester United outcast Jadon Sancho

Aston Villa have confirmed the arrival of Manchester United outcast Jadon Sancho on loan.

The 25-year-old is aiming to revive his career after a miserable time at Old Trafford, having also been farmed out last season to Chelsea.

As Daily Mail Sport previously reported, Villa and United made a breakthrough in talks and he has now joined Unai Emery’s side.

He will hope to enjoy the same upturn in fortunes as Marcus Rashford did when sent on loan to Villa Park from United last season when deemed surplus to requirements by Ruben Amorim.

Sancho’s contract with United is up next summer, although they have the option to extend it by an additional year.

Sancho is also joined at the club by former team-mate Victor Lindelof, a fellow deadline day signing.

Sancho had been a member of United's 'bomb squad' before securing a move to Villa

‘Aston Villa is delighted to announce the signing of Jadon Sancho from Manchester United,’ the club said.

‘The England international joins Villa on a season-long loan.

‘Sancho has been playing at the highest level of the club game since he was a teenager, particularly impressing for Borussia Dortmund during his time in the Bundesliga.

‘Last term, the winger was on loan at Chelsea where he helped the London club win the UEFA Europa Conference League, scoring in the final against Real Betis.

‘Welcome, Jadon!’

The winger was loaned out to former club Borussia Dortmund in January 2024 and spent last season on a temporary deal at Chelsea.

Chelsea had an obligation to buy Sancho for £25million if they finished higher than 14th in the Premier League, which they did, but they decided to pay a £5m penalty fee instead.

Sancho recently posted a picture with fellow bomb squad members Tyrell Malacia and Antony

Sancho was placed into Manchester United’s bomb squad on his return to the club alongside Marcus Rashford, Antony, Tyrell Malacia and Alejandro Garnacho.

Rashford has since joined Barcelona on an initial loan deal while Garnacho sealed a £40m move to Chelsea on Saturday.

Sancho scored 12 goals in 83 games since joining the club from Dortmund for £73m in July 2021.

Villa have turned to the loan market once again and have also added Liverpool ace Harvey Elliott for the campaign with an obligation to buy him for £35million.

He will strengthen Villa’s attacking resources in addition to Evann Guessand, who joined from Nice earlier in the window.

Having once been seen as a huge rising star in the game, Sancho and Villa will hope the fresh start can revive a career began brightly but has been on the decline.

At 25, the skillful wide man still has plenty of years left at the top if he can find his feet under Emery.

Sancho’s move comes after reports he had been delaying a decision on his future due to his his relationship with American rapper Saweetie.

Saweetie had been claimed to be influencing Sancho’s career choices, with the winger having travelled to States side three times in a month.

The former Borussia Dortmund star was reportedly considering ending his career in Europe to move to the United States.

Famed California-based tattoo studio The Apollo revealed that they had inked Saweetie's middle name on Sancho's neck earlier this month

Sancho fuelled romance rumours in May when it was reported that Saweetie, real name Diamonté Quiava Valentin Harper, had pride of place as his phone’s lock screen photograph.

Sancho, who reportedly earns around £250,000 per week, was celebrating Chelsea’s Europa Conference League in May and held his phone aloft as he made merry with Trevoh Chalobah.

Eagle-eyed fans spotted the picture of Saweetie, 32, on his phone and the speculation about his love life has been rife ever since.

Earlier this month, Sancho inked her name on his skin – all but confirming their relationship.
