Arne Slot admits he is hurt by suggestions his football is ‘dull’

Arne Slot says he is hurt by suggestions his football is ‘dull and boring’ but admits he doesn’t ‘completely disagree’.

The Liverpool head coach insisted on Wednesday he will never change his philosophy or style of play after fans have criticised the Reds for losing their entertainment value.

Slot’s men are on a nine-match unbeaten streak but some of the games have been tough watches for fans, with several insipid draws.

Ahead of a meeting with league leaders Arsenal at the Emirates Stadium on Thursday night, though, Slot said: ‘I find it really hard to hear (that football is dull) but I would not completely disagree.

Liverpool manager Arne Slot says he is hurt by suggestions his football is ‘dull and boring’

The Reds are on a nine-match unbeaten streak but some of the games have been tough watches for fans, with several insipid draws

‘I want to win as many trophies as I can but I think I am also known for the fact that my teams always try to play attacking football and I can only say they’re trying to do so.

‘I don’t like to hear this (boring label) of course. I would like us winning a lot of games but also playing an attractive style of football which we have done this season. We have to find a way against teams (who play) in an unattractive way, which is maybe smart for them to do.

‘We have to find answers to that. We haven’t found enough yet but we are working on that every single day to improve that.’

Champions Liverpool go north London 14 points behind Arsenal and Slot described the Gunners as ‘the complete package’.
