Anya Taylor-Joy joins Miley Cyrus as she’s added to Walk of Fame

You’d be forgiven for thinking Anya Taylor-Joy was out in Hollywood to celebrate her own star being added to the Walk of Fame.

But the actress was, in fact, there to support the honour being bestowed on best friend Miley Cyrus.

All eyes were on The Queen’s Gambit star in a sparkling halter-neck mini dress with transparent stiletto heels, wearing her platinum blonde hair in a ponytail, when she arrived at the ceremony for Ms Cyrus.

To cheers from the crowd, Ms Taylor-Joy told the 33-year-old pop star that she was inspired by her from the age of ten after seeing the singer on the cover of a teen magazine.

‘Miley didn’t just grow up in front of the world, she outran every expectation it set for her,’ said the actress, 30.

‘Miley, darling, you have always been and are now quite literally a star. Thank you for shining brightly for all of us.’

Ms Cyrus, in a sleeveless gown by Versace celebrated her star, the 2,845th on Hollywood Boulevard, with her mother Tish, sister Brandi, and fiancé, singer Maxx Morando.

However, some family members including dad Billy Ray and sister Noah were seemingly absent from the ceremony.

It comes nearly one year after the Flowers hitmaker revealed that her family went through a ‘really difficult, dark decade’ but worked things out without therapy.

While her father appeared to not be in attendance, the performer referenced to him during her speech as she addressed fans and the crowd.

‘My dad used to say that a skyscraper starts with a jackhammer. So does a star on the Walk of Fame by the way,’ she said at one point.

Ms Cyrus later flashed a cheerful smile as she posed next to her new star which sits directly across from the iconic Hollywood Roosevelt Hotel.

The popstar has had a rocky past with her father Billy Ray, but the pair recently appeared to be on good terms.

Last year in May, the father daughter duo reunited in a photo uploaded to Instagram by the Achy Breaky Heart singer.

Speculation of a possible rift between Cyrus and Billy arose back in 2025, and a source previously told the Daily Mail that she was worried her father could ruin her music comeback at the time.

She also notably did not include her father in her speech when she accepted her first Grammy in 2024, which she won for Best Pop Solo Performance for her hit track Flowers.
