Devil Wears Prada 2 star Anne Hathaway looks Runway-ready

The cast of The Devil Wears Prada 2 descended on the BBC on Thursday morning after dazzling at two red carpet events in London the night before.

Anne Hathaway, Simone Ashley, Stanley Tucci and Caleb Hearon arrived at the Radio 2 studios to record an interview with Breakfast Show host Gary Davies.

Despite a busy night of party hopping between Leicester Square’s European premiere and the film’s gala reception held at the National Portrait Gallery, the foursome looked fresh faced and ready for a busy day of promo.

Anne, who returns to her lead role of Andy Sachs in the movie sequel, wowed in another runway-ready look, with her grey sweater dress featuring a statement brown fur peplum.

The actress accessorised with red heels in a nod to her film’s signature colour.

Simone Ashley, a newcomer to the movie in her role as Miranda’s first assistant Amari, put her legs in the spotlight with a grey sweater teamed with a draped pink mini skirt.

Stanley Tucci, who’s back as Nigel Kipling, was suitably dapper in a grey waistcoat and chinos whilst Caleb Hearson, who appears as second assistant Charlie teamed a bright pink shirt with a blue striped tie.

On Wednesday night Leicester Square hosted the European premiere of the movie before a gala event round the corner at London’s National Portrait Gallery.

In the film, which takes place 20 years after the events of the first movie, Meryl Streep’s character Miranda Priestly is grappling with the decline of traditional print media while facing off against Emily Blunt’s Emily, now a powerful executive controlling crucial advertising dollars.

Anne’s Andy Sachs is lured back to Runway to help save the magazine with the storyline taking the group from New York to Milan.

The sequel will also introduce a host of new faces, including Justin Theroux, Kenneth Branagh and Lucy Liu.

Early reactions for the The Devil Wears Prada 2 have already arrived ahead of its May release, and critics have warned fans to ‘gird your loins… it is phenomenal.’

Whilst the review embargo doesn’t lift until April 29, some social media reactions have been going viral, with the reactions all overwhelmingly positive.

The Hollywood Reporter’s Alex Weprin shared on X that the movie is ‘a biting media parody wrapped up in high fashion. Every journalist who sees it will cringe from recognition.’

Variety writer Jazz Tangcay agreed, teasing: ‘Gird your loins, the devil is back in all her glory! Yes, #thedevilwearsprada2 is phenomenal. It is the perfect sequel that exceeded all expectations.
