Amy Schumer has just sold her Brooklyn townhouse at a massive loss amid her divorce from husband Chris Fischer.
The comedian unloaded the four-story residence in the upscale Brooklyn Heights neighborhood for $11 million — $1.25 million below the $12.25million she paid for the home in 2022, The Real Deal reported.
The five-bedroom property, built in 1829, was immortalized in the 1987 film Moonstruck, in which actress Cher appeared on the sidewalk outside the home and in the townhouse’s kitchen while winning an Academy Award for the role.
The property was first listed in March of this year, before whispers of trouble in paradise for Schumer and Fischer, who share a six-year-old son.
The pair initially asked $14 million for the home, but just two months later lowered the price by $1.25 million.
Schumer, 44, had told the Wall Street Journal earlier this year that she and her husband were selling to move to Manhattan, where their son would be attending school.
The home is located in one of the most prestigious neighborhoods in New York City, and Schumer’s neighbors include actors Jennifer Connolly, Paul Bettany, Matt Damon and Oscar Isaac.
The townhouse spans 5,500 square feet and occupies a coveted corner lot.
The property includes a private garden, gated parking, a restored mansard roof, original fireplace mantels, and a custom kitchen outfitted with antique cabinetry and a massive wine cellar, according to the original listing.
The buyer is Murphy Brown TV writer Michael Saltzman, who closed in late November, according to The Real Deal.
The sale coincides with Schumer’s recent announcement she is divorcing.
Fischer, a Martha’s Vineyard chef, and Schumer recently posted about the decision on social media.
‘Fingers crossed we make it through,’ the post read, adding, ‘whatever ends up happening with me and Chris has nothing to do with weight loss or autism,’ referencing her weight loss and Fischer’s publicly discussed autism diagnosis.
Earlier this month, Schumer confirmed their seven-year marriage was ending, writing on Instagram: ‘Blah blah blah not [because] I dropped some lbs.’
Her announcement comes after the Daily Mail exclusively revealed last month that Schumer was ‘over’ her marriage.
