Amy Childs reveals dropping two stone has left her losing muscle

Amy Childs has admitted she is ‘starting to love [herself] again’ as she gave an update on her weight gain journey in an Instagram post on Sunday evening.

The TOWIE icon, 35, sparked concern with her extreme weight loss earlier this year after battling stress and has vowed to put on at least a stone.

The mother-of-four revealed that training incorrectly and dropping two stone has left her losing muscle, which she is now trying to build back up without having to worry about ‘managing her food’ over the Christmas holidays.

Amy posed for a mirror selfie in a grey sports bra and gym leggings as she updated her followers on her goals and said she’s feeling ‘more in control’.

She wrote: ‘Starting to love myself again. I’m feeling happier and more in control of my nutrition thanks to this guy @jon_jkphysique

‘So basically I realised I was losing muscle weight and not just fat!! Jon is coaching me to understand how to lose fat and grow muscle the right way

‘I always worry or struggle around managing my food during a festive period! (A lot of Prosecco) but Jon is helping me navigate around this time,

‘How to enjoy the food! But still support my goals! I am so grateful for the support and expert guidance around the one thing I always struggled with – nutrition!’

Amy’s post comes after she revealed to Weekend Magazine the unexpected side effects of her weight loss.

She said: ‘I now have a nutrition plan and I train three times a week. I go to padel and Pilates.

‘When I lost so much weight, my skin was completely saggy, but I’ve been having 3D Refirm treatments every week (I’m on my tenth now).

‘My belly is terrible, but this treatment is unbelievable, and whereas before I’d never wear a bikini, next year when I go on holiday I’ll wear one.’

Amy has also admitted she has had ‘a lot going on at home’ ahead of an evening out at the ITV Palooza in London earlier this month.

Sharing photos on her Instagram, she wrote: ‘I have been terrible on social media lately, a lot going on at home, back filming, mum life… however I’m all dressed up and ready for the best night at ITV Palooza.’

It’s been a tough time for Amy after her brother Billy was rushed to hospital when he was involved in a major car accident earlier this month.

The TOWIE star said ‘someone was looking over her brother’ after his car was ‘written off’ as a result of the collision.

Amy admitted she has been ‘going through it’ and has lost weight as she worries about her mother’s health after she suffered a heart attack and juggles parenting her four children, Polly, eight, Ritchie, seven, and twins Billy and Millie, two.

Addressing her weight loss and cruel trolling she’s received as a result in an emotional interview with OK! Magazine, she said: ‘I’m going through so much at the minute that the weight has fallen off me.

‘I worry about my mum constantly. She’s very emotional – she thinks she’s going to have another heart attack.’

‘People think I’m not eating, but I do eat. To be honest, I do feel better when I’m a bit heavier than I am at the moment.

‘There’s so much going on at the minute – it’s the result of pure stress. We’re also having renovations done in the midst of parenting four kids.

‘But I’m strong, I’ve been in this industry for 15 years. I’ve had lots of people concerned about me, which I completely understand, but yes, people can be so quick to judge.’
