Former Lioness Alex Scott is the first contestant to be voted off I’m A Celebrity on Friday night as she opened up about ‘mentally tough’ experience.

Alex, 41, was made vulnerable after the favourite to leave first, comedian Eddie Kadi, was exempt from the public vote because he won the live trial.

The pundit got a huge round of applause from her campmates as she quickly grabbed her bag and left the I’m A Celebrity camp for a final time.

Speaking to host Ant and Dec, she said: ‘I’m free! It feels strange and doesn’t feel real. Now I’m like, “Oh, I’m out.”‘

Asked whether she is ‘disappointed’ to be the first voted-out, Alex insisted: ‘Oh no! It has been an incredible experience and mentally it has been tough but I am so glad I got to do it with so many amazing campmates.

‘The laughter we have had and we really connected and making the bonds that we did.’

Laughing as she was shown her contraband video as she sneaked in salt to add to the rice, Alex laughed explaining: ‘I don’t know how many I took in, I just put them in my sock.

‘The first few days I put it on a spoon and Jack sprinkled it in the rice and so my campmates did know about it.’

Ant and Dec asked what was the worse part of her jungle experience as she dropped campmate Martin Kemp in it.

Alex explained: ‘The toilet seat situation, the smell is awful and someone keeps leaving the seat up, but we can’t say anything because he is a national treasure.’

Before walking across the iconic bridge, Alex revealed who she wants to win the ITV series: ‘Shona to win, Ginge and Aitch are great and would love to see them in the final, but I think if Shona wins it will give her the confidence.’

The pundit was greeted off the I’m A Celebrity bridge by her friend Regan Coleman as her girlfriend, Jess Glynne, is currently performing a string of shows in the UK.

Fans quickly took to X to say they are ‘sad’ and surprised to see Alex leave the jungle first.

The wrote: ‘Alex Scott being the first person to leave I’m A Celebrity is so sad; Alex is the first to leave I’m A Celebrity…and I just got to say, I did not see that coming.’

‘I haven’t even watched I’m a celeb for a few days but how is Alex out?? I hate everyone.’

‘Alex Scott is the first celebrity to be going home from the latest series of I’m a Celeb I thought it would be Lisa.’

It comes after the Football Focus presenter was punished for smuggling ‘contraband’ into the camp in the form of salt which resulted in the whole camp losing a star.

She also opened up about the importance of diversity and representation in the media industry.

Alex shared: ‘I never just want to be given a role because “oh we need a type for this”, I want to always be given a job and a role because I am the best person for that role.

‘And I think the thing is, if we do go back with like racism and everything, it’s just the fact that there was such a limited pool because no one was being given those opportunities.

‘Now those opportunities are open, I still just want to be given the role because I am the best person for the job, never because I’m just ticking a box.’

She added she gets so much ‘joy’ out of seeing other women on television talking about sport and presenting shows.

Following the scenes, the Hold My Hand singer, 36, wrote to her almost 900,000 followers: ‘My woman is a true trailblazer! So proud of everything you are. She is the flagship Lisa!’

‘Ah I miss you so much,’ she added, along with a love heart emoji.

Alex previously revealed how she was waiting for Jess to propose to her during a conversation with Ruby Wax and Shona McGarty on the ITV show.

Speaking about Jess, she said: ‘I think before her, I never knew happiness.’

After watching Alex speak about her hopes of marrying the singer, Jess took to social media and quipped: 'I better go get a ring'

Ruby asked Alex how they both met, which she explained: ‘She approached me in Chiltern Firehouse…

‘I was in there with my friends and she just walked up to me… [it was] really ballsy and I was like, I like your ballsiness, and then the spark was just instant and then yeah…we fell madly in love.’

Continuing, Ruby then queried whether marriage would be on the cards for Alex and Jess.

Alex responded: ‘I will get married to her, just waiting for her to ask, Rubes!’

After watching the episode, Jess took to her Instagram Stories and quipped: ‘I better go get a ring.’

The pair first started dating in 2023 and Alex’s jungle stint will be the longest they’ve spent apart from each other.

Speaking to the Daily Mail before arriving in camp, Alex confessed: ‘It’s going to be a test for both of us.’

She candidly revealed why they waited a long time before making their relationship public.

Alex explained: ‘From the start, we were very guarded and private because we wanted to get to know each other and figure out ourselves before it was out there for the world.’
