Alan Shearer’s daughter Chloe has announced her engagement to her rugby star boyfriend, with the Newcastle legend quick to offer his blessing.
Chloe, 33, revealed the news on Instagram following the proposal by Micky Young at the Wylam Brewery in Newcastle.
She shared photos of the proposal with the caption ‘Forever YOUNG’ in a nod to the former rugby star’s surname.
Young retired from rugby in 2023 having spent the majority of his career playing for the Newcastle Falcons in the Premiership
The scrum half also represented Leicester Tigers and Bath, while he had short spells with Toulon and Gloucester in 2023.
England and Newcastle legend Alan Shearer shared his approval following Chloe’s engagement.
The Match of the Day pundit quipped ‘About time too’ in response to the news.
Further well wishes came from Chloe’s sister Hollie, who wrote ‘The bestest news ever. My sister’s engaged!’
Chloe has a career in talent management, which has included work for the annual charity football event Soccer Aid.
Her engagement comes nearly a year to the day since Hollie announced her own engagement.
Hollie is engaged to former England rugby star Joe Marchant.
The England international had popped the question in Paris last year, with the couple sharing a photo of them at the Eiffel Tower.
Marchant has represented England on 28 occasions during his career.
The couple moved to France in 2023 after Marchant joined Stade Francais.
