Adam Peaty’s estranged mother has a shared a new post about ‘children being loved without expectation’ as Gordon Ramsay’s new Netflix documentary finally lands, despite her demands to be removed from it.
It was previously revealed how Caroline, 60, would still feature in the new series of Being Gordon Ramsay despite formally requesting to be edited out from the final cut.
The six-part show follows TV chef Gordon, 59, as he juggles his family life with his new business empire – opening five culinary experiences in one of London’s tallest buildings, 22 Bishopsgate.
Holly and Adam are seen in the show as they’re joined by both the Ramsay’s and the Peaty family at their engagement party, with his mum Caroline briefly shown at the bash.
The party was filmed months before Adam was first reported to have fallen out with his family, which later saw Caroline snubbed from the wedding invite list.
Following the show’s release, Caroline has taken to social media to share a post which said: ‘Parents often focus on growth, correction and outcomes. Grandparents focus on being.
‘No grades, no pressure, no fixing. A study showed children with active grandparents show higher emotional security scores by age 10.
‘When a child is loved without expectation, self-worth becomes internal, not negotiated.’
Just days previously Caroline wrote about ‘dark times’.
She shared a tranquil image of sunset with the words: ‘You’re living proof that you can go through the darkest times and still come out kind, radiant, real and full of love.’
A source close to Caroline previously revealed she had written to Netflix producers to say she was not asked for her consent to be filmed for Gordon’s show, and given what had happened, did not want to feature.
However, a source said filming notices were displayed throughout the venue where the bash took place.
They told The Sun ‘They [posters] stated that by attending you were giving your consent to appear in the show…
‘The Peaty family members were not interviewed so no additional consent would have been needed.’
The request followed Adam banning his family from attending his wedding with Holly, which took place at Bath Abbey on December 27.
It was all said to be down to a row between the family, which saw Caroline not invited to bride Holly’s hen-do earlier last year.
Adam’s sister Beth was there at the wedding representing Adam, and was among the maids of honour alongside Holly on the big day.
While promoting his new series, Gordon finally broke his silence on the feud and said it was all ‘self-inflicted’ from the Peaty side.
He told Daily Mail: ‘I was told we were accused of saying inappropriate things
‘Nothing at all was said that was inappropriate, I promise you. I was very warm, very witty. I talked about when they first met.
‘I was nervous, hearing the words no father would ever want to hear, “Your daughter’s gone on a date with the world’s best breast- stroker… We knew something big was going on when she came home and all we could smell was chlorine.”’
Gordon added: ‘It’s all self-inflicted from their side, because we’ve done nothing – none of what you’ve read: no rudeness, no ignorance – we welcomed them.
‘We sent a chauffeur-driven car for them to come to the engagement party and treated them like royalty. So to get that barrage of press was very hurtful. Tana took it very seriously.
‘It was Adam and Holly’s wishes for them not to attend and so we had to respect that.
‘There’s stuff they need to sort out as parents. That’s nothing to do with Tana and me. But we are very mindful we want to move on and allow Holly and Adam to continue starting their lives together.’
Gordon’s wife Tana recently revealed the things she said to Caroline before Adam and Holly’s nuptials.
The 51-year-old told Grazia how she praised Adam to his mother before the big day.
She said: ‘I remember saying to Adam’s mum when I met her. “My God, you’ve got the most amazing son. I couldn’t think of anyone that is more perfect for Holly, who’s incredibly emotional, incredibly vulnerable in areas.”
‘She’s funny, brilliant and witty but she also needs keeping in line. Adam manages to do all those things. He’s been through a lot. She’s been through a lot.
‘I remember saying to his mum that, in my mind, he’s perfect for our daughter. I was incredibly happy to meet her and tell her that.’
Last month it was reported the Peaty family had told friends they had they had ‘given up hope’ of reconciling with Adam.
It followed Gordon referring to himself as ‘dad’ in a comment on Adam’s wedding video where the Olympian said he would ‘always choose’ his new wife Holly.
An insider said: ‘It’s been a really emotional time for them as a family. They’re coming to terms with what has happened and that Adam has picked his side.
‘It’s dashed any hope of reconciliation in the near future. They’re keeping their heads down and trying to move on quietly. It’s clear Adam’s made his choice.’
Meanwhile in his new Netflix show, Gordon candidly opens up about his ‘awful’ relationship with his alcoholic father and his guilt about missing part of Holly’s childhood.
He says he felt at times he prioritised work over being there for his four eldest children; daughter Megan, 27, twins Holly and Jack 26, and Tilly, 24.
He says: ‘I sadly, had a torrid relationship with my father. My father called me a snob once. And I said, “No, definitely not a snob. I just want to get out of the s**t mess I was born in”.’
Gordon, who is worth an estimated £162million, lived in 15 different council estates, with his mother juggling three jobs to keep the family afloat.
‘You’re worried about, you know, hitting the end of the bottle and seeing that bottle of Bacardi disappear, because you know what happens at the end of that.’
While Gordon turned to cooking after his football career was cut short due to a knee injury and went on to work at Marco Pierre White at Harveys, his brother Ronnie, 58, became addicted to heroin.
