Elon Musk has cancelled his Netflix subscription after a TV series creator was accused of calling conservative activist Charlie Kirk a nazi.
Hamish Steele’s work in the animated show Dead End: Paranormal Park was already under scrutiny for including transgender themes in the children’s show.
But the criticism grew sharply after multiple screenshots of an X post purportedly showing the creator using profanities and calling Charlie Kirk a ‘Nazi’ went viral.
The images showed a response from Steele to UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer’s statement on the killing of the conservative commentator.
Starmer offered his condolences to Kirk’s loved ones while pushing for free and open debate without fear, claiming ‘there can be no justification for political violence’.
However, according to screenshots of Steele’s reply, the series creator said: ‘Our sympathy for any of the families being slaughtered by your own weapons but a random Nazi gets shot and it’s a public statement’.
The Daily Mail has not independently verified these viral pictures as Steele’s X account is now private.
But following the alleged scandal, Musk has now revealed in an X post that he has cancelled his personal Netflix account after another user claimed the same.
‘Just cancelled my Netflix subscription. If you employ someone who celebrated the murder of Charlie Kirk and makes content that pushes pro-trans content on my kids… you will NEVER get a dime of my money. It’s as simple as that,’ the X user wrote, alongside a screenshot of the cancellation.
Musk responded by resharing the post, captioning it: ‘Same’.
The Tesla CEO then reshared another post critical of the transgender themes in Steele’s show, which had been promoted for seven-year-olds.
‘This is not ok,’ the billionaire wrote.
The tech titan’s announcement of his Netflix cancellation gained traction on X, with thousands of users agreeing with the move – and some even claiming they would follow in his footsteps.
Following the shooting, Musk slammed the Democratic party and leftist users online, castigating them for ‘celebrating cold-blooded murder’.
‘The Left is the party of murder,’ Musk wrote on X soon after news broke of the shooting.
The billionaire initially posted that he hoped ‘Charlie makes it somehow’ but as it became clear Kirk was deceased, Musk’s comments increased.
Throughout the ordeal, liberal users on rival social network Bluesky began celebrating the assassination of Kirk.
‘They are celebrating cold-blooded murder,’ Musk wrote in a reply to a user. ‘Shows what we’re dealing with. Evil people.’
Musk continued blaming the ‘radical Left’ for Kirk’s murder by claiming they are responsible for numerous politically motivated murders.
‘The Left lectured us for the last decade about the dangers of violence from the Right,’ Musk later wrote.
‘From the assassination attempts of President Trump to Brian Thompson, the United Healthcare CEO, being murdered. Now to Charlie Kirk. The danger was actually on the Left.’
Charlie Kirk was assassinated on September 10 while speaking at a public rally at Utah Valley University.
He was shot in the neck and rushed to hospital where he underwent emergency surgery, but he succumbed to his injuries.
Kirk’s alleged assassin, Tyler Robinson, 22, was arrested two days later when he showed up with his parents at his hometown sheriff’s office in southwest Utah, more than a three-hour drive from the site of the shooting, to turn himself in.
Robinson appeared in court on Monday, but hid his face during the hearing.
Prosecutors have charged Robinson with aggravated murder and plan to seek the death penalty. His next hearing is on October 30 and he is expected to appear in person.
Prosecutors have since revealed incriminating text messages and DNA evidence that they say connect Robinson to the killing.
A note that Robinson had left for his romantic partner before the shooting said he had the opportunity to kill one of the nation’s leading conservative voices, ‘and I’m going to take it,’ Utah County Attorney Jeff Gray told reporters before the first hearing.
Gray also said that Robinson wrote in a text about Kirk to his partner: ‘I had enough of his hatred.’
Robinson has been jailed at the Utah County jail in Spanish Fork since his arrest.
