Sydney Sweeney’s 28th birthday party was truly out-of-this-world.
The Anyone But You star threw a space-themed party with pals Glen Powell, 36, Lauren Sanchez, 55, Wiz Khalifa, 38, and Diplo, 46, in attendance.
Sydney worked an intergalactic look for the lavish bash, slipping her curves into a clinging metallic dress by The Blonds. The stunning number, adorned with an array of stars, is clearly a celeb favorite – Britney Spears wore the same dress for her 2008 album Circus.
Even Sydney’s footwear, a pair of sexy high heels, were in space theme.
The star – who is romantically linked to Scooter Braun – shared photos from the epic celebrations to her Instagram on Monday, giving it the caption: ‘Welcome to planet syd,’ followed by alien, space ship, and rocket ship emojis.
Guests embraced the UFO theme, with her Anyone But You co-star Glen dressing up as a NASA astronaut, Lauren in a silvery mini dress, and many others in metallic shades.
From green skin beings to alien ears, attendees really went out all to stay true to the theme – and a few even came as Star Wars characters (and a few Men In Black appeared to be in attendance as well).
The Star Wars characters brandished light sabers as Sydney embraced a pal on the dance floor, but the night wasn’t complete without a photo with Chewbacca himself.
Decor included a NASA rocket ship while colorful lighting helped maintain the club-like ambiance.
Sydney’s birthday cake was a sight to be seen as well – the double-tiered cake resembled a starry night sky and was topped off with colorful, planet-like orbs.
Pals Kelley McCartney and Amélie Tremblay assisted Sydney in blowing out the candles.
Guests enjoyed beverages from a bar while Diplo entertained guests from behind the turn table.
Ashton Kutcher was also spotted in attendance.
While Sydney’s new boyfriend Scooter Braun didn’t appear to make the Instagram post, he was present – he was photographed arriving to the bash dressed as a Star Wars character.
Lauren’s husband Jeff Bezos was not seen in any of the Instagram images either, but the Blue Origin founder was seen arriving to the bash with her.
The festivities were held at Vibiana’s, a special event venue, in downtown Los Angeles on Saturday night.
Meanwhile, Sydney and Scooter were recently seen together acting very much like a couple.
The pair were seen holding hands at Universal Studios Halloween Horror Nights in Los Angeles over the weekend. The actress’s mother Lisa and father Steven were also with them.
The group were flanked by five private security guards and VIP tour guides during the outing.
It comes as the Daily Mail has learned that the budding pair are very serious. ‘They talk every day and see each other often, it is hot and heavy,’ a source told Daily Mail.
‘I don’t want to say the L word, but it feels like the L word. They seem very much in love, or at least incredibly in lust.
‘The attraction is she is hot as can be and he is an old soul who is helping her guide her way through sudden fame and her exploding career. He gives great advice. They have what each other wants.’
The two have been linked since they were seen hanging out amongst friends at Lauren Sanchez and Jeff Bezos’s wedding in Italy on June 27, which would make them a couple of almost three months.
Neither Braun nor Sweeney has publicly commented on a possible romance.
An insider told PageSix that Braun has been ‘obsessed’ with Sweeney ever since they started spending time together in late June.
He has been ‘pursuing’ the actress heavily as he takes her on date after date.
There have been claims that the two have been together since April when they took in Lana Del Rey’s performance at the Coachella Music Festival, but that claim has yet to be confirmed.
Sweeney ended her engagement to Jonathan Davino earlier this year.
Braun divorced Yael Cohen in July 2021 after seven years of marriage. They have children Jagger, nine, Levi, seven, and Hart, five.
