This is the heartstopping moment a hero lorry driver reversed his truck near a burning building to save a man.

Huge plumes of black smoke could be seen billowing from a three-storey building in Granby Row, Dublin, yesterday morning.

Dramatic footage posted online shows a Eurospar lorry with its hazard lights flashing edging closer to the building as the inferno rages above a Thai massage parlour.

A man wearing a dark top and trousers then leaps from the block and through the smoke before a deafening thud is heard as he lands on the lorry’s roof.

A total of seven people were treated at the scene, with three being taken to hospital for treatment.

Gardai is investigating the blaze with a spokesperson saying the street was closed in order for the scene to be preserved.

A spokesperson said: ‘Gardai assisted emergency services at the scene of a fire at a premises on Granby Row, Dublin, this morning, Tuesday 24th June 2025.

‘The scene is currently being preserved and street is closed with local diversions in place.

‘Three people have been taken to hospital. Investigation is ongoing.’
