Love Island villa undergoes huge makeover days before show returns

The Love Island villa has undergone a huge makeover just days before the ITV2 show returns to our screens.

Season 13 of the dating programme, hosted by Maya Jama, 31, is set to return on Monday 1st of June.

This means that they don’t have long to get the stunning abode, located in Mallorca, Spain, ready for the sexy singletons to get to know each other in.

Viewers can expect the new islanders to grab each other for chats in the garden, top up their tans by the pool and have their usual morning debriefs on the balcony.

But in some new snaps of the villa, it appears that there is still a lot of work to be done, despite the show making its return in a matter of weeks.

The firepit looks completely different right now.

Usually, the oak wooden seating with white seated cushions is surrounded by wooden decking.

But as it is currently going through renovations, the space has a blue carpet leading up to the blue seating area.

The aerial pictures also show members of the crew have been seen trying to complete work as one builder can be seen stood by the pool next to a work station that has wood, tools and a ladder.

Crew have also put down new fake grass, given the outdoor space a fresh lick of paint and are completing all the final touches to make it perfect.

The outdoor kitchen, swimming pool, sun deck and outdoor seating all appear to be making a return for this year’s series.

Last year’s series of Love Island was on our screens between June 9 and August 4 2025.

Cach Mercer and Toni Laites made it on top, but split earlier this year, leaving fans devastated.

Host Maya joined the show in January 2023 after taking over from Laura Whitmore, 40.

Love Island was last on our screens in January when Maya presented the spin-off Love Island All Stars.

The series aired from January 15 to February 2026 and saw previous Islanders return to the iconic villa, located in South Africa, in a bid to find love once again.

Viewers voted Ciaran Davies and Samie Elishi as their winners – but unfortunately the pair split shortly after returning to the UK.

Meanwhile Millie Court and Love Island USA star Zac Woodworth were crowned as runners-up.

But on Wednesday, the pair announced that they have gone their separate ways after a five-month whirlwind romance.

Sharing a snap of her and Zac on social media, Millie, 29, wrote: ‘Hey gang, Zac and I both love our lives and our homes, and that makes it harder to know what a future could be, so we’ve agreed that we’d prefer to remain friends x.

‘But we have had the best time travelling together since the show, it’s been a whirlwind and I loved every minute x tysm for all your love and support.’

Over on Zac’s Snapchat, he wrote: ‘Hey guys. Millie and I have talked about it and both love our lives where we live which makes the future difficult to navigate so we’ve decided we prefer to remain friends!

‘HOWEVER we truly have had the best time traveling and experiencing life together after the villa and appreciate all the love and support we felt from yall.’

He concluded his statement saying: ‘We’ll always remain good friends and I will always wish nothing but the best for her and forever be in her corner rooting her on.’

The spin-off premiered back in 2024 which was won by Molly Smith and Tom Clare, which was then followed by a second series in 2025, which saw Casey O’Gorman and Gabby Allen be crowned winners.

Love Island 2026 returns to our screens on June 1 on ITV2.
