Duncan James reveals his boyfriend is moving in with him and his mum

Duncan James has revealed he’s moving his boyfriend into his mother’s home to live with them after eight months of dating.

The Blue singer, 48, is dating Alexander Roque, a performer with strip show Forbidden Nights.

Their romance came to light after it was revealed in August last year that Duncan had split from former flame Rodrigo Reis after six years together. Daily Mail understands Duncan and Rodrigo ended their relationship a number of months prior.

And things are going better than ever with Alexander, as Duncan told Daily Mail that the pair are taking the next step and moving in together to his mother’s home where he is currently residing.

Duncan, who has partnered with Coors for their new Cold Coorus campaign, explained: ‘Alex gets on so well with my mum.

‘They have really fun banter between them and they speak to each other on the phone daily. It’s just really lovely.’

Duncan continued: ‘Right now, I want to touch wood because I don’t want anything to go wrong or jinx it, but honestly I’m just so happy.

‘I’m excited because it’s a new chapter of my life. I’m so happy and I’m in a really loving relationship. And the fact that he gets on so well with my mum –

‘I couldn’t be in a relationship with somebody if my mum didn’t get on with them. I’m so close to my mum.

We have got a very unique relationship because my mum was adopted, she doesn’t have a biological family, so to speak apart from me.

‘And she raised me without my dad. He didn’t want to know her. He gave her an ultimatum, me or the baby, and she chose me.’

Duncan added that he also gets on well with Alexander’s parents, saying ‘they’ve become like my extended family.’

While Duncan loves spending time at home with his mother, he currently isn’t around as much because he’s enjoying the 25th anniversary tour with Blue.

Speaking about his bond with bandmates Simon Webbe, Antony Costa, and Lee Ryan, Duncan shared: ‘We genuinely do love each other.

‘I met three brothers along my journey in my life, who I never thought I was going to meet. We’ve been through so many highs and lows together, it’s been a rollercoaster.

‘We’ve sort of been there, done it all, and we’re still together 25 years later and feeling more grown and also more appreciative of everything.

‘The first time around, it was crazy and we were young kids, we didn’t really know what was going on. It was like a mad world back then.

‘But nowadays, we’re a lot more grown up and we’ve all got responsibilities.’

‘And it’s been really fun to do. The team are great. We had such a giggle making the video.’

Duncan James partnered with Coors to launch the Cold Coorus – a surprise new song and music video announcing the exact moment your beer reaches peak chill.
