Representative Tim Burchett said he had a private UFO briefing from Pentagon-connected officials during an appearance on Joe Rogan’s podcast.
‘Oddly enough, I got a call that tomorrow at 3.00pm I’m going to be briefed over the phone,’ said Burchett, adding that one of the Secretary of War’s ‘top dogs’ will ‘go over stuff.’ The Daily Mail confirmed that the meeting took place on Thursday, as the Joe Rogan Experience podcast was taped on May 6.
Burchett’s comments came as anticipation continues to build around President Donald Trump’s push to declassify federal UFO files and growing demands from lawmakers for greater transparency surrounding alleged encounters with unexplained craft.
However, the Tennessee congressman gave listeners a warning, saying not to expect full transparency, adding: ‘I don’t want everybody to get their hopes up. I don’t have a lot of faith in our government.’
Burchett then pointed directly at what he described as a decades-long cover-up surrounding UFOs and unidentified aerial phenomena.
‘This thing’s been covered up at least since 1947,’ he told Rogan.
The Republican lawmaker also accused powerful Pentagon insiders of resisting disclosure efforts, saying: ‘The war pimps at the Pentagon and everybody else, they just don’t give up that easy.’
During the interview on the Joe Rogan Experience podcast, Burchett described secret briefings, military witnesses, underwater UFO claims and what he believes are ongoing attempts inside the government to suppress information from the public.

Burchett said his fascination with UFOs began as a child growing up in Tennessee, where he spent hours reading books on unexplained phenomena at the local library.

But he claimed his views dramatically changed after entering Congress and beginning to ask questions about classified incidents involving military personnel.
‘When I started asking questions… we just get to run around,’ he said when Rogan asked what first made him suspect there was a cover-up.
According to Burchett, whistleblowers and officials later approached him privately to show him footage and discuss incidents involving mysterious craft displaying capabilities far beyond known human technology.
The congressman described one alleged meeting where individuals connected a computer to his television and showed him objects maneuvering at impossible speeds.
‘They were showing me things that were flying at speeds that were just that nothing compares,’ Burchett claimed. ‘And the angles that they were taking would literally, and I’ve said this before, and it grosses people out, but it would turn you or me into a ketchup package.’
Burchett also alleged that military pilots who report UFO encounters are often silenced or intimidated.
‘If you’re a pilot and you come back and say, “Hey, I’ve seen this.” You immediately pulled off the flight line,’ he said.
Burchett said he spoked with someone from the Department of War3.00pm on Thursday
‘They’re not able to fly and they’re given a psych evaluation, and they’re given an eight-hour, they call it a debriefing. It’s I’ve been told by some of the officers who have been involved that it’s really just an interrogation.’
The congressman revisited a previously reported trip to a Florida military facility alongside Representatives Anna Paulina Luna and Matt Gaetz, where he said lawmakers were initially denied access to pilots who allegedly witnessed unexplained craft.
Burchett claimed Gaetz threatened subpoenas before officials eventually allowed the pilots to speak.
‘They described things, and it’s been reported now. It’s been imported in public, but it was these craft that were hovering for extended periods of time and could shoot straight up at incredible speeds that we don’t have the capabilities of doing,’ Burchett said.
One of the most startling parts of the interview involved Burchett’s claims about underwater UFO activity.
The congressman said he had been briefed on enormous submerged objects allegedly moving at impossible speeds beneath the ocean.
‘We’ve seen craft underwater that do something over 200 miles an hour that on the sonar pickup are as big as a dad gum football field,’ he claimed.
Burchett argued that neither Russia nor China appeared capable of producing technology matching the alleged performance of the craft described in briefings.
‘If it’s China, they’d own us even more than they already do,’ he said while dismissing the possibility that foreign adversaries were behind the incidents.
The congressman also claimed he personally urged Trump to continue pushing for disclosure.
‘I talked to the president about it, and I said, you know, Mr President, it’s like it’s like layers of an onion. Just keep peeling it back,’ Burchett revealed.
He suggested Trump may be uniquely positioned to force information into public view.
‘He might be the only one with enough guts,’ Burchett said. ‘Only one cuz he’s not beholden to that bunch.’
Despite his claims, Burchett repeatedly acknowledged he remains skeptical that the government will fully open its files.
At one point, he compared past UFO disclosures to heavily censored documents.
‘They’re going to put something out. It looked like somebody shot it with a dad gum 12-gauge. It’s just going to have holes in it. It’s all redacted,’ he said.
Still, Burchett insisted Americans deserve to know what officials have learned.
‘The government has no right to decide what I can and cannot understand or handle or see,’ he told Rogan.
