Ella Rae Wise has candidly shared that she is finding it ‘really hard’ to come to grips with her ex-boyfriend Dan Edgar’s new romance with Chloe Lewis.
The TOWIE star, 25, dumped on-and-off boyfriend Dan, 35, in January 2025 – a week before she entered the Big Brother house – citing trust issues.
And last month, Dan confirmed his relationship with former co-star Chloe, 35, after reportedly reconnecting at Georgia Kousoulou and Tommy Mallet’s wedding in Mallorca last summer.
The couple both joined the reality series in 2015, with Chloe making her exit in 2019 – the same year that Ella was added to the line-up.
Currently airing on ITV2, the 36th series was filmed at the start of the year, with several episodes taking place in Vietnam and Ella and Dan forced to cross paths.
And appearing on brand new TOWIE vodcast You Alright Hun? this week, Ella opened up on navigating being around her ex-boyfriend, while also giving her verdict on his relationship with Chloe.

Speaking to host Denise Van Outen, she said it was a ‘really hard situation’, compounded by the fact that she and Dan were ‘naturally drawn to each other’ in group situations.
The TV personality said she felt ‘very emotional’ about the situation and was struggling to decide what to do moving forward, confessing she wished she had a ‘crystal ball’ so she knew which path to take.
‘It was a lot,’ Ella explained. ‘And I think it’s really hard to be around your ex anyway. Like, we all know that I don’t have loads of friends on TOWIE don’t we? So, he to me, he’s a bit of my familiarity.
‘Sometimes we are just drawn to each other, like, naturally. And it’s not because we want to be disrespectful to the person that he’s with or for people around us, it just happens.
‘And like, I don’t know, it’s a really hard situation to be in. I don’t think anyone can really comment unless they know…’
Getting candid about how she felt about Dan, she went on: ‘I think I feel very emotional, obviously when I’m around him and I feel like when I’m out of it or I’m not around him and I’m like, I still give him a call, but I’m more me. Do you know what I mean?
‘And then, I don’t know, I just think I’m a bit confused. I’m away with the fairies with it all. I don’t really know what to do. It’s like, do I get over it? Do I wait? Oh, if I had a crystal ball, I’d rub it so hard.’
Giving her thoughts on Dan’s relationship with Chloe last month, Ella told the Daily Mail she thought it was ‘cute’, but admitted she had felt threatened by their closeness when they were still an item.

She was interviewed alongside castmates Harry Derbidge, 32, and Dani Imbert, 28, who all joked that dating in Essex can be ‘incestuous’.
Dani said: ‘That just sums Essex up. Essex is such a small place – it’s impossible to date someone that hasn’t got with someone that you know. It’s our reality.’
Harry added: ‘It’s always a hard one. It’s never easy to see someone go with someone that you’ve been with.
‘But, you know, [it’s] a lesson, it makes you a bigger person and a lot stronger.’
Meanwhile, last month Dan also opened up on the difficulties of being in close proximity with Ella during filming in Vietnam, calling it a ‘tough situation’.
He told Closer that he disliked seeing his ex upset, while admitting that trying to maintain a friendship with her while also juggling his new romance with Chloe was ‘never easy’.
‘The stuff with Ella is a lot more recent, so naturally, it’s not ideal being away with your ex,’ he shared.
‘It came to light that she was still quite upset about a lot of stuff. It’s not nice, I don’t like seeing anyone upset. It was a tough situation to be in.
‘I’m with someone else now and to be out there and see someone else upset and still trying to manage a friendship. It was all new ground to try and navigate. It’s obviously never easy, but we’ve been trying to manage it the best we can.’

However, he gushed over new love Chloe, saying: ‘She’s very understanding and very grown up as a person anyway. She’s done the show before and she’s understanding of how it all works.’
Though Dan was hesitant to say whether she would ever make a return to TOWIE, only stating that for now he is happy with things being ‘separate’, adding: ‘I’m in a good place with it all. Things are going well at the moment.’
Chloe joined TOWIE in 2015, and on the show she was good friends with another of Dan’s exes, Kate Ferdinand – who is now married to ex footballer Rio.
Her stint mostly surrounding her on-off relationship with Jake Hall, before she eventually left the show after finding love with Danny Flasher.
She soon fell pregnant with identical twins, but tragically lost one of her babies at eight weeks pregnant, before welcoming their son Beau, six, in October 2019.
However, in 2023 Chloe revealed that she and Danny had split after seven years of dating, explaining in an Instagram Q&A at the time that the pair had quietly separated after a ‘rubbish’ and ‘complicated’ few years.
