If this woman DMs you and invites you to her apartment, DON’T go

A Miami woman was arrested after DM-ing a man on Instagram and inviting him to her apartment, only to rob him blind, police say.

Nicole Cano, 30, was detained on May 4 for an April 11 incident in which she invited the victim to her luxury high-rise apartment to ‘have drinks.’

According to Local 10, the unidentified victim arrived at Paraiso Bayviews Condos just after 8pm that evening.

While on Cano’s balcony overlooking Biscayne Bay, two women he did not know approached him from the bedroom.

Cano and her alleged accomplices then confronted their unsuspecting victim, police said.

All three women demanded the man hand over his money, police said, but he allegedly told the women that he had no change on him.

The terrified man attempted to leave the condo, only for the women to forcefully stop him, police said. They allegedly told the victim he was ‘going to pay.’

A struggle ensued as the three women crowded the victim and allegedly latched onto a gold chain that he was wearing around his neck.

‘They tried to get his gold chain,’ Miami Police Officer Michael Vega told NBC 6.

‘They were not successful. But, they did take a crucifix that he had on his chain that was valued at over $300.’

The victim finally fled the apartment complex and screamed for help, according to arrest reports.

He later identified Cano in a police photo lineup. She was taken into custody and provided a statement.

According to police, the suspected Instagram swindler admitted to initiating a meeting with the man but said she did not rob him.

Per her condominium complex’s website, the apartment she allegedly lured him to could go for up to $15,000 per month.

Cano was arrested and charged with strong-armed robbery and false imprisonment.

According to Sammi’s Law Firm, in the state of Florida, strong-armed robbery is punishable by up to 15 years in prison.

Roger P. Foley reported that false imprisonment is punishable by a maximum of five years in prison and a fine of up to $10,000.
