Lauren Sanchez is being mocked after boasting about her two-pound weight loss ahead of Monday night’s Met Gala.
Sanchez, 56, dazzled on the red carpet of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, sporting a curve-hugging, navy blue gown designed by Schiaparelli, which featured off-the-shoulder silver straps and a very low-cut neckline.
The back of the dress featured lace-up corset detailing and a flowing skirt, with Sanchez accessorizing with a large pair of diamond earrings and her hair worn in loose waves.
The former journalist appeared slimmer than ever, admitting that she dropped two extra pounds on the day of the Met Gala after visiting the New York Fire Department.
‘I went to visit the New York Fire Department and did their training,’ Sanchez told Vogue. ‘It’s probably the most unique Met prep ever,’ she added.
During the training, she had to go through a smoke-filled obstacle course in full firefighter gear and practiced rescuing someone.
‘It was bananas but I loved it. I probably lost about two pounds doing it,’ Sanchez told the outlet of her visit, which benefited Leary Firefighters Foundation and the FDNY Foundation.
However, while Sanchez may have been pleased with her quick weight loss, others on the internet were not as enthused.

Another wrote, ‘Hunger games.’
‘Have a glass of water, it’ll be right back,’ someone else joked.
Another typed, ‘Some mornings I drop two pounds and you don’t hear me bragging about it.’
Several others also dismissed the achievement as ‘water weight.’ Weight can fluctuate about five or six pounds per day as our bodies lose or retain water, according to Cleveland Clinic.
Sanchez and her husband, Amazon tycoon Jeff Bezos, 62, were lead sponsors of this year’s Met Gala and also served as honorary co-chairs, while Anna Wintour, Beyonce, Nicole Kidman and Venus Williams were co-chairs.
It’s rumored that the couple footed a lot of the bill for the biggest night in fashion, with Page Six reporting that the couple allegedly paid at least $10 million for the honor of sponsoring the gala.
This year’s dress code was Fashion is Art, which served as a more specific baseline for guests against the gala’s overall theme of Costume Art.

The event took place ahead of the New York City museum’s spring exhibition, which opens on May 10 and will pair historical and contemporary garments from the Costume Institute. It was loosely divided into three categories: the classical body and the nude body, aging bodies and pregnant bodies, and the anatomical body.
The A-list guest list included Kim Kardashian, Katy Perry and Bad Bunny, as well as billionaires such as Michael Bloomberg, Meta’s Mark Zuckerberg and Isha Ambani.
Actress Blake Lively, who settled her bombshell lawsuit against It Ends With Us costar Justin Baldoni on May 4, arrived on the red carpet in a surprise appearance wearing archival Versace.
Despite the clear dress code, many stars missed the mark in outfits that strayed from the theme, while others, such as Sarah Paulson, tried to make their looks a statement in social commentary.
Even the new Vogue editor, Chloe Malle, raised a few eyebrows for her ensemble.

While she got ready for the Met Gala, Malle spoke with CNN for an interview where she praised Sanchez as a ‘force’
This year’s gala marked the first in Anna Wintour’s new role as Vogue’s global creative director and chief content officer for Conde Nast, as Malle took over as head of editorial content for US Vogue.
While she got ready for the Met Gala, Malle spoke with CNN for an interview where she praised Sanchez as a ‘force.’
Malle was one of the first to profile the billionaire three years ago for a Vogue article.
‘Lauren is a force, and she’s moving into all worlds,’ Malle said.
‘It’s been amazing for the museum, and for the Met Gala, that she and Jeff have been as involved as they have been because it’s really enabled the exhibition to come to fruition,’ she raved.
Costume Art will run from May 10 through January 10 next year.
