Shocking moment drunken easyJet brawl breaks out

A drunken brawl broke out on an easyJet flight after a woman ‘swigged vodka’ and spat in another holidaymaker’s face.

Video footage recorded by a horrified onlooker showed a woman, believed to be British, lunging across the middle aisle in an attempt to hit the other passenger.

A steward is then seen attempting to calm the situation down, as two male passengers then get involved in the fray and are eventually escorted off the plane by security.

The budget airline flight on Wednesday had been travelling from London Gatwick to Antalya in Turkey, but was forced to make an emergency diversion 650 miles away in Kosovo.

Police at Pristina International Airport entered the plane and marched off the two passengers – a man in green and a woman in pink – from the flight.

The woman in pink had been ‘swigging’ vodka from a bottle before lunging at the passenger according to a witness.

The witness also claimed the woman had spat in another passenger’s face during the confrontation.

In a separate video, a male passenger shouted at another holidaymaker who had reported their behaviour to staff.

Ryanair BANS passengers from bringing all hot beverages on board

‘I looked up and was in disbelief about what was going on, it was all a bit mental. The pair were proper shouting, swearing at each other. Everyone was a bit scared, we all felt a bit helpless and felt sorry for the flight attendants.

‘I decided to start filming in case evidence was needed and also for my own protection as well.’

The diverted flight eventually landed in its destination of Turkey, three hours late.

An easyJet spokesperson said: ‘We do not tolerate disruptive behaviour.

‘The safety of customers and crew is always our highest priority.’

The drunken brawl comes as several budget airlines have considered a ban on repeat abusers flying and on alcohol.

Ryanair boss Michael O’Leary has urged airport bars to limit alcoholic drinks to two per passenger in a bid to reduce unsociable behaviour.

The airline also banned passengers from bringing their own hot drinks or alcoholic beverages on board with them in February.
