Street shooting puts four in hospital after shots from Brixton car

Four people have been taken to hospital, with one in a life-threatening condition, after shots were fired from a car in Brixton, south London, early on Saturday.

A 25-year-old man is in a life-threatening condition in hospital – three others aged 21, 47 and 70 were also admitted with gunshot wounds.

Their injuries are neither life-threatening nor life-changing, the Metropolitan Police said.

Officers were called to Coldharbour Lane in Brixton at 1.14am on Saturday after reports of gunshots – they arrived within four minutes and gave first aid alongside paramedics.

No arrests have yet been made.

In a video posted online which claimed to depict the Brixton shooting, a man appeared to be receiving CPR on the pavement as police car sirens flashed behind.

He appeared to be lying on the ground next to Coldharbour Lane Open Space, outside the railings of a hand car wash centre opposite Jimmy’s Plaice fish restaurant.

Another man wearing a yellow woollen hat appeared to be receiving medical treatment from paramedics and police officers on a bench nearby.
