Katie Price warned by fans as she promotes illegal CBD products

Katie Price has been warned by fans after promoting illegal CBD products while in Dubai on Monday.

The former glamour model, 47, who was previously accused of using a ‘rancid’ con to flog the oil, explained how she uses the products herself.

Speaking in a clip uploaded to her Instagram, she said: ‘Guess who’s back in Dubai!! I do love being here but there’s one thing I will always miss and that’s my CBD oil!

‘I know my sleep is never going to be as good when I can’t have my oil, lots of people think it’s drugs but it really isn’t. You can use my code Katie40 for 40% off.’

Cannabis oil is illegal in UAE where there is a zero tolerance to drugs, including promoting, selling, and possessing.

UK.gov adds: ‘Some skincare products and e-cigarette refills may contain ingredients that are illegal in the UAE such as CBD oil. If you are found in possession of such products, they will be confiscated and you could face criminal charges.’

Sharing their thoughts on Reddit, social media users wrote: ‘Katie still playing with fire.’

Others added: ‘Katie landed in Dubai and it wasn’t long till she posted yet another video of her promoting CBD, she even mentioned she was in Dubai;’

‘Is she even allowed to be posting clips advertising CBD from Dubai? Again the rules don’t apply to her.’

Daily Mail has contacted Katie Price’s representative for comment.

Last year, Katie landed herself in hot water when she backed up boxer Anthony Fowler’s claims that CBD had ‘healed’ his child’s tumour.

She posted on X to draw attention to Anthony’s story before advertising his Supreme CBD brand and including a checkout code that she would profit from.

Katie and Olympian Anthony were both accused of being ‘irresponsible’ after extolling the benefits of the product.

The boxer revealed last year that his daughter Roma, now three, had been suffering with a tumour and he had used CBD oil to address it.

In separate posts, he boasted about refusing chemotherapy for his child.

Later, Katie weighed in, claiming Anthony’s daughter had been ‘healed’ after the family refused hospital treatment.

‘Very serious chat with Srena Stregapede and Anthony Fowler about their two-year-old daughter who had a tumour in her leg, they refused hospital treatment and healed her themselves which is amazing,’ she wrote on X.

There is no evidence that CBD, oil derived from the cannabis plant that contains cannabidiol (CBD), can cure cancer.

Some CBD products are legal to buy as food supplements from health stores, but according to the NHS website, the ‘quality and content’ of products sold online is unknown and they ‘may be illegal and potentially dangerous’.

The NHS acknowledges that CBD does have ‘medical benefits,’ but adds that there is no guarantee that even products sold in health stores will be of ‘good quality’.

Moreover, the oil can affect how other medicines work, meaning a specialist should always be consulted about using it in conjunction with other treatments.

Doctors would also need to monitor users regularly because it can affect the liver.

Katie looked delighted as she headed to Dubai to reunite with her husband, Lee Andrews, on Saturday evening.

The former glamour model was spotted at Gatwick Airport as she prepared to board a business class flight to join her partner.

She initially tied the knot with the businessman, 42, in January, just weeks after meeting, before holding a second, legal ceremony – much to the shock and concern of fans and family, due to reports of Lee being a scammer.

While Andrews has presented himself as a high-flying business mogul, the Daily Mail previously shattered the illusion by revealing that he has been banned from leaving Dubai after spending three weeks locked up in a UAE jail for allegedly forging his ex-girlfriend’s signature to secure a £200,000 loan.

Ever since their wedding he has made various claims that he will return to the UK to be with her.

Earlier this month, Andrews announced he was joining OnlyFans, despite previously claiming he was a billionaire.

WHAT IS CBD OIL AND IS IT LEGAL IN THE UK?

Government advisers made it legal to buy CBD supplements in 2016

CBD oil is a legal cannabinoid that can be sold in the UK.

CBD contains less than 0.2 per cent of the psychoactive substance THC.

Although the oil has been thought to have some medicinal properties, including relieving inflammation, pain and anxiety, there is no conclusive science.

Suppliers in England and Wales have to obtain a licence to sell CBD as a medicine.

Manufacturers are able to avoid the strict regulation by selling it as a food supplement – ignoring the lengthy process of gaining a medicinal licence.

CBD products comes in many forms, the most popular being an oil – which users spray under their tongue – or gel tablets which melt slowly in the mouth.

Government advisers at the MHRA found that CBD has a ‘restoring, correcting or modifying’ effect on humans.

Cannabis oil, which is different to CBD oil because it contains THC – the compound that gives users a ‘high’ – is illegal under UK laws.

Billy Caldwell, from Castlederg, Northern Ireland, made headlines last April when he became the first Briton to be prescribed it on the NHS.

Cannabis oil, which reportedly has no side effects, influences the release and uptake of ‘feel good’ chemicals such as dopamine and serotonin.
