NFL prospect teases Giants fans ahead of draft: ‘I’d do great things’

Jeremiyah Love has talked up the possibility of joining the New York Giants, claiming  ahead of the NFL draft that he would ‘do great things’ in New York alongside their ‘great quarterback,’ Jaxson Dart.

‘They’re building something special,’ said the running back, who is considered by many to be the No 1 player in the class of 2026.

The former Notre Dame star is expected to be taken early in the first round on Thursday night, with the Tennessee Titans the bookies’ favorites to land Love with the fourth overall pick.

The Arizona Cardinals, Giants and Washington Commanders also heavily linked with the 20-year-old, who won the Doak Walker Award for college football’s top running back.

On Wednesday in Pittsburgh, Love was asked about his impressions of the Giants – who hold the No 5 pick – after meeting coaches and executives.

John Harbaugh is now in charge in New York, with Dart spearheading an exciting young roster that also includes running back Cam Skattebo and wide receiver Malik Nabers.

‘A great organization,’ Love said while working a shift at Raising Cane’s in Pittsburgh alongside Arvell Reese. ‘If I was to go to New York, it would be a very good place where I can market myself.

‘They’re building something special… I think I would do great things with the Giants. They got Skattebo over there… I think me and him will be a great duo.

‘They got Dart behind there – a great quarterback, a smart quarterback… I want to play with a good quarterback. He is a great quarterback, a very smart guy. So he’ll put me in good situations to make plays and I’ll make him look good.’

Love also praised Harbaugh – ‘a great head coach’ – and added: ‘I think something special is going for the Giants.’

Reese, meanwhile, opened up to the Daily Mail about what will go through his mind when he is drafted this week.

The ex-Ohio State linebacker could end up being taken by the Giants’ rivals, the New York Jets, who hold the No 2 pick.

‘I’ll probably just think about everybody who played a part in me getting there,’ Reese said.

‘All the childhood coaches I’ve had, my mom, my family, my brothers, my sister, my dad – I’ll probably think about everybody. Everybody played a part in building me and shaping me to where I am today.’
