Jack Whitehall’s mum Hilary has revealed how she once had a run-in with her son’s close friend James Corden.
Jack, 37, married his model girlfriend Roxy Horner, 34, on Saturday in front of a star-studded guest list which included his A League Of Their Own co-star James.
Hilary, 64, has now revealed that she had the awkward moment with her son’s pal James, 47, back in 2011.
Regaling the tale to her husband Michael, 85, on their popular podcast The Wittering Whitehalls, Hilary explained how the incident kicked off when the couple bought Scottish singer Lulu’s son’s house.
‘The house was owned by Lulu’s son,’ she told her baffled husband. ‘And when we bought this house from Lulu’s son Jordan Frieda, literally the day after we exchanged on this property, we went to see James Corden in One Man, Two Guvnors.’
‘The only other guest in the dressing room after the show was Lulu. So I went over and said: “Hello, you don’t know me. I’m Hilary Whitehall, Jack Whitehall’s mum. We were there with Jack and I said, “Really bizarrely we’ve just bought your son’s house”.

‘And she went, “Oh I can’t believe he’s sold it. I love that house. Oh my goodness me, I’m so thrilled it’s gone to some people who are going to look after it… blah blah blah.”‘
‘We then talked for 20 minutes about this house and after 20 minutes of house, house, house, James Corden said: “Is there any danger we can talk about the play you’ve just watched that I’ve been in for two-and-a-half hours?”‘
‘James wasn’t at all pleased,’ chipped in Michael with a smirk on his face.
Michael and Hilary’s son Jack married at the 17th-century Euridge Manor in the Cotswolds on Saturday with a host of famous guests.
A few weeks prior to his wedding, Jack celebrated his stag do with James, and gave the Daily Mail a shout out for helping piece together his ‘patchy’ memory of the wild night.
Jack, James and their pals stopped off at a mini-golf bar called Swingers and visited a racy club.

The comedian and actor elaborated on some of the ‘unwise’ antics to Chris Moyles on Radio X.
Confessing that he started drinking Guinness at 11am and his memory was patchy, he insisted that the celebration was ‘pretty tame’.
He said: ‘[It was] relatively sensible, it was pretty tame. I started with Guinness at about 11 o’clock in the morning. Which was not that wise. I have a sort of patchy memory about what sort of happened in the evening.
‘But, luckily, it was all reported in the Daily Mail the following day, so I got to wake up and literally get a blow-by-blow itinerary of what I was doing the night before.’
He went on to say he was made to wear an inflatable crown, a Tottenham Hotspur shirt and a cape for the outing. Jack kicked off Saturday’s festivities wearing a golden crown during a six-hour pub crawl through Soho.
He was joined on his stag by Corden, Jamie Redknapp and ex-rugby player Lawrence Dallaglio. James, 47, and Jamie, 52, were long-time colleagues of the comedian on Sky’s sports-comedy panel show A League Of Their Own.

In 2022 Corden was subjected to a blistering social media takedown when he reduced a waiter to tears.
Keith McNally, the owner of New York restaurant Balthazar, won instant notoriety for sharing a post in which he condemned Corden’s rude behaviour.
Corden was labelled ‘a tiny Cretin of a man’ and ‘the most abusive customer to my Balthazar servers’.
McNally originally banned Corden from his restaurant but then later reversed it after saying he had spoken to the actor on the phone.
He had told how Corden had been rude to his staff several times: berating them over a hair in his food and demanding free drinks during the summer.
The presenter was accused of furiously reprimanding the waiters over an omelette he was unhappy with during a trip to the restaurant on October 9, 2022.
Four hours after announcing the ban to his 87,000 Instagram followers, McNally promptly reversed it, saying he had received a call from Corden apologising.
