Want to earn £60k, and live rent-free? Apply to look after this DOG

A Surrey family is looking to hire someone to look after their dog and is offering to cover rent and bills as an added bonus.

The family is offering a salary of £60,000 to the successful applicant, as well as accommodation in a cottage on the family’s private estate.

The Live-In Dog Companion and Estate Assistant will work full-time hours between 9am and 6pm from Sunday to Thursday.

The job listing stated that there is some flexibility depending on when the family is present at the estate.

Responsibilities for the role include managing the dog’s routines, as well as feeding and grooming, monitoring its health and maintaining the pet’s daily diary.

As part of the role, the applicant will also have to look after the property when the family is away and assist with some meal preparation and housekeeping duties.

The new recruit will also be expected to collect deliveries arriving at the house, run local errands, assist with upkeep of the estate and prepare simple dinners or snacks when needed.

The listing stated: ‘We are seeking a dependable and caring Live-In Dog Companion & Estate Assistant to join a private estate household.

‘This role is centred around providing a consistent presence on the property, supporting the well-being and daily routine of the family dog, and assisting the household team with light support tasks around the estate.

‘The successful candidate will act as a guardian of the home, offering reassurance and attentive oversight of the property when principals are in residence or travelling.

‘This is an ideal role for someone who enjoys a calm, structured environment and takes pride in maintaining a welcoming and well-run home.’

The family said they are looking for someone ‘warm, calm and dependable’ and someone who is passionate about dogs and animal wellbeing.

They also said the candidate would have to be discreet, trustworthy and respectful of the private environment.

Unfortunately for anyone still wishing to apply, the family has already received thousands of applicants.

Jana Kocevska, principal consultant at Achieve Hospitality, announced that they were no longer accepting applications due to the popularity.

She wrote: ‘We’ve received thousands of applications, so we’re no longer accepting applications for this position.

‘We are incredibly grateful for the level of interest shown and truly appreciate the time and effort each applicant has taken to apply.

‘Please note that only shortlisted candidates will be contacted regarding the next stage of the process.

‘Given the significant volume of applications, we are unable to provide individual feedback to candidates who are not shortlisted for an interview.

‘Thank you again for your enthusiasm and understanding.’
