Hunt for balaclava-clad knifemen after pubgoer stabbed in beer garden

Detectives have launched a manhunt for two balaclava-clad knifemen after a pubgoer was stabbed in a beer garden. 

Emergency crews raced to the White Horse pub on North Street in Sudbury at 11.50pm on Saturday following reports of an injured man.

It is understood the victim had been knifed moments earlier at the nearby Comfortable Cow on King Street. 

Witnesses described scenes of chaos as two men, armed with ‘bladed weapons’ and hiding their faces behind masks, set upon the victim. 

After suffering a single stab wound to his arm, the man ran from the scene and was chased by the two men. 

Suffolk Police has launched an investigation into the targeted assault, confirming that they believe the attackers and the victim were known to each other. 

The victim was rushed to hospital by ambulance, where he remains in a stable condition.

Detectives are scouring CCTV footage and conducting forensic enquiries in the area to track down the suspects.

The first suspect is described as at least 5ft 6in tall, of skinny build, wearing a black Adidas-style hooded top and a balaclava. 

The other male is described as being 5ft 6in tall, of slim build, wearing all-black clothing and a balaclava. 

Officers have issued an appeal to anyone who may have witnessed the incident or has relevant CCTV, doorbell camera, or dashcam footage from the area at the time.

Anyone with information is asked to contact Suffolk police and quote crime reference 37/22007/26.
