Caitlyn Jenner asked Trump for help correcting the gender on passport

Caitlyn Jenner has revealed she wrote directly to Donald Trump begging for help after her passport gender was changed back to male.

The 76-year-old former Olympian said her identification listed her sex as ‘M’ despite having all of her legal documents updated to reflect her transition.

‘Today, documentation is extremely important. Every time you turn around, you gotta show ID, ID, ID,’ Jenner said during an appearance on Tomi Lahren’s podcast.

‘So somebody in my position, who has transitioned, I worked very, very hard. I worked with a law firm to make sure everything was changed from “M” to “F”, right down to my birth certificate.

‘All my documentation was right, my passport, my global entry – I traveled around the world,’ she continued, explaining that the issue arose after her passport expired and was renewed.

Jenner, who is a Trump supporter, said she attempted to correct the issue herself by sending official paperwork to the State Department.

‘I did everything,’ she said, adding that she mailed in a hard copy of her amended birth certificate. ‘And they sent it back, M, they didn’t change it.’

It comes after Trump signed an executive order stating that only two genders will be recognized and that government-issued identification documents should reflect a person’s sex ‘at conception.’

Caitlyn Jenner told Tomi Lahren on her podcast that she appealed directly to Donald Trump after her renewed passport listed her as male despite updating her documents to reflect her transition

She claims the State Department refused to correct it under a new policy restricting gender marker changes, though she insisted she is not blaming Trump and 'loves what he's doing'. Pictured: The longstanding friends shake hands at the LIV Golf invitational in 2022

‘What do I do?’ she added. ‘This is a safety factor.’

After her attempts failed, Jenner said she appealed directly to Trump.

‘I was in Mar-a-Lago two months ago, [and] wrote a letter explaining all of this to him, how it’s affecting me and a lot of other people,’ she said.

‘Unfortunately, he wasn’t there that weekend. The Secret Service guy said he could get it to him, put it on his desk and stuff.

‘I haven’t heard from him. He’s kind of busy right now. My gender marker is not big on the issue, OK?’

Despite the situation, Jenner made clear she was not criticizing the president.

‘I’m not blaming him whatsoever. I love the guy, and I love what he’s doing,’ she said.

The issue comes after Trump signed an executive order on his first day back in office declaring that the United States would recognize only two sexes, male and female.

‘Across the country, ideologues who deny the biological reality of sex have increasingly used legal and other socially coercive means to permit men to self-identify as women,’ the order states. ‘This is wrong.’

Following the order, the State Department moved to suspend processing passport applications from Americans seeking to change their gender marker.

Jenner said she complied with all requirements but was still unable to have her passport corrected.

Other high-profile transgender figures have reported similar issues.

Euphoria star Hunter Schafer previously said her passport had been amended to reflect her sex at birth, rather than her gender identity, after submitting paperwork.

An estimated 476,000 transgender adults in the United States lack identification documents that accurately reflect their gender marker, according to the Williams Institute.

Mismatched identification can create complications when traveling, passing through security, or verifying identity in everyday situations.
